"Hey, Youngjae!" My friend, Moon Jongup, shouted from a lunch table dead center in the middle of the cafeteria. "Come sit with me!"
I nodded, acknowledging his request, and quickly grabbed a tray, hurrying my way through the lunchline.
As I neared the table, Jongup gave me his signature lady-killer smile and patted the chair next to him. "I saved you a seat."
I returned his smile and slid into the seat, setting my tray down in front of me. "Thanks. Although, don't you always? This is a daily routine, you silly boy." Chuckling, I took a bite of my sandwich.
"Well, fine." He pouted. "Maybe tomorrow I'll ask Yongguk to sit here." Jongup's pout quickly twitched into a full-blown smirk.
"Moon Jongup!" I warned, shooting him a death glare. "You wouldn't."
The smirk stayed plastered on his handsome face. "Why not? That would be a great way to become acquainted with your crush!" Jongup giggled.
I flushed a deep shade of red from both anger and embarrassment. No one except for my best friend knew that I was gay, and I intended to keep it like that.
"I'm just kidding, Youngjae." He said, playfully punching my arm. "You're not angry, right?"
"Yah!" I returned the gesture with a shove. "Don't do that! You almost made me spill water all over myself." Mumbling to myself, I added, "Stupid brat. What happened to respecting your elders?"
"Hey!" Jongup whispered, leaning in close. "That creepy guy is staring at you again." He nonchalantly pointed to the table to the right of ours, and sure enough, a raven-haired male was looking straight at me.
"Not him!" I groaned, ducking my head down. "Seniors like Kim Himchan shouldn't be hitting on juniors like me. It's just weird!"
"Oh, so it's okay for you to want a relationship with Yongguk?" Jongup said, a little too loudly for my liking.
"Shh! Do you want everyone to hear?" I turned my head to glare at him. "For your information, having a crush on someone older than you is totally normal!"
"Whatever you say."
I felt a tap on my shoulder and looked up to see a young boy, probably a freshman, standing there.
"Can I help you?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
A smirk spread across his lips. "Actually, I was just coming over here to confirm that you have a crush on a guy, and from what I just heard from your conversation, it's true. I'll be off now. Thanks!"
The pink-haired boy skipped back to his table, leaving me and Jongup with our jaws dropped.
"Did I just hear what I think I heard?" Jongup whispered in awe.
I could only nod, too affected by the young boy's words to even form a sentence.
"This is bad, Youngjae, really bad."
Swallowing, I took a deep breath and nodded again. "I know."
