2. Unexpected Truth and Secret Revelations

    After putting away her luggage, she took a quick shower and got ready. Then, hurried to the kitchen so she could eat breakfast with her family. Her mother offered her breakfast and she started to eat it while talking with the family members.

When she finished eating her father sat with a straight posture and a focused expression like he was about to tell her some decision. Rutuja thought, "What will he say now?" Her father said Rutuja we have something to tell you. She asked her father "what is it that you need to tell me?" He said Rutuja we have found a boy for you.

She said "What? When did this happen?" and why I don't really have a clue about a decision this big. "I don't even know what that boy looks or is like?" Mother said calm down Rutuja first listen to what your father has to say. Ok was what she said in a small voice.

Her father said Rutuja the boy is really good for you. I and his father have been good friends and colleagues for a long time now. Also, I have personally met the boy a few times and he is perfect for you from all prospects. It would be rare to get a boy like him so, be ready we are going to say yes to their proposal. She said ok father silently and asked can I at least meet him. He said yes you can meet him. He and his family are coming to ours today evening for meeting our family.

She left the dining area without saying anything. When she was finally in her room, she locked the door and slumped down on the floor. She was worried in a way and it wasn't about just getting married. It was about the hidden truth of her life, anyone who would marry her will have his life changed completely. She was thinking that she would have to tell the person who she will be marrying about the truth of her life, along with the danger that would be accompanied by it.

She found her phone as a storm of thoughts rose inside her head and called her friend Harshada. As they have been friends since childhood Harshada and Rutuja knew about each other's every secret. When Harshada pick up her call, she told her about everything that happened and what she was worried about. Harshada said you should calm down a little and tell the boy about the truth. Your father thinks that he is trustworthy then, you need to tell him everything and see whether he accepts you or not. She said thanks you were a big help. I will call you after meeting him and tell him what happened. She said ok talk to you later.

Now she was calm enough to think straight. A few hours later her mother called her for lunch she was quiet at lunch too. Obviously thinking about how to tell him. She finished her meal fast and was about to go back to her room when her mother asked her to take the sari and jewelry for getting ready in the evening. She also told her that they will be here by 6 pm. She took the things from her mother and went back to her room.

It was almost 5:20 pm when she started getting ready. But, she was done too soon and went to the kitchen to help her mother with food preparations. As his family would be here for dinner. She was just straining the tea into cups when she heard a car screeching to halt in front of her house. Her mother rushed to the living room to confirm that they were there.

When everyone was seated mother asked Rutuja to serve tea to them. After serving tea she was asked to sit beside her parents. While giving tea she had noticed that the boy was silent too and thought maybe, he was also told by his father. She came to know that the name of that boy was Rishikesh he seemed to be a nice person. Both side families question Rutuja and Rishikesh about various things. When the questions came to a halt they had dinner together.

While the elders of both families were chatting with each other after dinner, Rishikesh asked their parents for permission to talk with Rutuja which was definitely granted. Rutuja's father asked her to take him to her room to talk. She said, "Ok Father" and asked Rishikesh to follow behind her.

While they were going to the room she had made up her mind to tell him about all the things. As they reached her room she asked him to get in and sit while she closed the door of the room. He took a sit on her study table chair while she took a seat on the bed.

She said we should both start with an introduction, you go first. Rishikesh told her that he was a Chemical Engineer and loved his work dearly. She said that is really very good to hear. Let me tell you about myself but, other than general information about me there is also a secret that shouldn't be told to anyone. "Tell me can I trust you with it?" He said of course you can trust me to keep it.

"Ok then, I will go ahead". My name is Rutuja I am a Software Engineer and I love my job. But, other than that I am a "Scientist" to tell more specifically we are a team of six chosen members who do secret research for our nation. And many people are after that research data. So, it is a dangerous job to do and might be your life will be in danger as well because of me.

He asked her, "Does anyone other than me know about this secret?" She said yes besides you my brother, best friend, and her husband know about it leaving our team aside. He was silent for a few minutes then said I accept you just the way you are so, you do not need to worry about it.

And we will have to accept each other either way so why not try to be friends and develop our friendship for our betterment. She said thanks for accepting and trusting me this means so much to me. We will have to say yes after we go in front of our parents. He said ok let's do it then.

They head back to the living room and tell yes as an answer to their families. Both families were happy and gave sweets to each other. Then he and his family left. Her father dropped them at the main gate of the house. There was a happy atmosphere in the house.

She went to her room and got changed. Then came back downstairs to help her mother clear the kitchen. After the cleaning was done she filled her bottle with water and went back to her room. Then called Harshada and told her about everything. She said Rutuja this Rishikesh seems to be a nice person and you have agreed for marriage too now. It is a good thing you just need to be aware of your surrounding when you are with him. She said, "Don't worry I will take care of that". Goodnight Harshada "Miss You", Harshada said, goodnight Rutuja "Miss You Too". Take Care. Rutuja went to sound sleep after the call.
