Can You Teach Me How To Feel Real?

Character Description

This chapter will describe Black Diamond and her powers. I will include a few of my rough sketches to help describe her, all of these are unfinished so I apologise.

So I'll start with her appearance. Her gem is located just bellow her collar bone and is the same shape as White's but obviously it's black. Her skin tone is a lightish grey colour and her hair is a deep black which goes just past her shoulders. She tends to wear black lipstick which matches her black nails. She also can conjure black wings with her powers, these wings obviously have a misty type of look to them.

Most of the time she wears her armour since she is normally out helping her gems colonies planets meaning she has her mask on most of the time as well. There are other reasons as to why she wears her mask but I'll get onto that later

She will only wear her suit if it's for an event or special occasion and of course its completey black.

     Suit Design:

Now she has never actually wore a dress like Blue and White and doesn't necessarily intend to. If she somehow needs to wear a dress of sorts she has to include pieces of armour in it.

   What she'd wear for a 'dress':

Now onto her powers, she can basically manipulate darkness which means she can control shadows, actual darkness and can even tap into another gems darkness if you get what I mean. If there isn't any sort of dark matter around her then she can conjure her powers from herself. When she first emerged she discovered that she had wings of sorts, later as she began to explore her powers more she also found that she can 'retract' her wings so she now only conjures them when needed.

Her powers do come with some side effects. Most of the time ,when conjuring dark matter, her eyes will turn to a deep black and mist will seep out of them. This is the reason why she tends to keep her faced covered with the mask. In addition, she also struggles to contain her powers when extremely angry or upset which leads to her hallucinating. These can include seeing dark shadow figures, seeing unpleasant scenes, hearing voices and bad memories replaying. Normally when in this state she will lock herself away for all the other Diamonds and even her pearl. If someone does approach her when she is hallucinating then she will unknowingly lash out which is why she locks herself away.

Behaviour wise she is quite strict but is also caring, especially when it comes to the other Diamonds. When it comes to White she isn't afraid to voice her own opinion and will most likely tease White, but only subtly. Black is quite close to Blue and Yellow and will constantly check in on them, she also tries her best to get Blue and Yellow together. She total ships them and will do anything in her power to give them both a little nudge in the right direction. Black keeps Pink in line and constantly looks out for her, sometimes she will even entertain the little Diamond. If anyone even so much as talks down to the Diamonds then she completely loses it and will hunt the pathetic life form down immediately, other than that she keeps composed but will definitely panic internally if in a sticky situation. She will normally fight along side her gems if necessary, this is another reason for her to constantly wear her armour.

Overall, she's selfless and will do anything to make her fellow Diamonds happy and does the same for her pearl.
