"Everlasting" Love

camilo's POV

"Camilo, can we talk about something else please.." Mirabel says softly.

"Listen, I know you're excited but.." Mirabel continues.

"I'm just delighted!! I can't wait to sing to Valentina my song for her in front of everyone!! I just know she's gonna love it." I said stimulated by my excitement.

mirabel's POV

"Camilo..." I say softly.

"Mm?" He replied.

"I just don't.." I start.

"What's wrong...?" he said with concern.

"You know... maybe Valentina won't like this idea... You know she's very intimate.." I continue.

"Nonsense! It will be a confession of my everlasting love to her in front of everyone!!" he said with an accent I believe to be French.

"If you say so," I muttered, and walked out the room.

I could still hear Camilo's squeals of excitement, even outside his room. I sighed and walked downstairs. I carried a package of things to the kitchen so that Casita could take it elsewhere.

"Mira?" My mother questioned.

"Yes, mama?" I reply.

"Oh honey, why are you carrying all these heavy things?"

"Mama, I have to help for Antonio's gift ceremony," I say grumpily.

"Okay, honey, but just know that tonight will be very hard-"

"Mami, I get it. Okay.." I say softly.

"You are just as special as everyone else in this family," she says while holding my hands tight.

"Special, huh... Everyone else has a purpose in this family but me.. she's just saying that to make me feel better.." I think to myself.

"Remember hija, you have NOTHING to prove," she said calling out to me as I leave.

I watch as Camilo and Valentina help set up, and I sigh. What I would give to have a loving relationship with someone. Too bad nobody likes a girl who's disorganized and weird. I mean REALLY weird... But anyways...

y/n's POV

You quickly run home to get ready for Antonio's ceremony, basically running like a cartoon character. But you didn't care. You had the Madrigals to impress. I mean sure, they're a nice family and all, but they deserve respect, ok. And your family LOVES the Madrigals. Seriously.

Anytime you come back from there, your Abuela is always like: "How was Camilo?"

Your dad is like: "Camilo treating you right?"

And your stupid cousins are like: "You're gonna get married to him one day!!"

And let's just say, You honestly, truthfully, respectfully are NOT going to get married to him!! Excuse me?? You're only 15, and the last time you checked, child marriage is illegal, so there. You're probably wondering why you don't like Camilo.

You never said you didn't like him, you just.. Don't want to date him. And trust me, you had feelings for him before, but ever since Dolores told you he's a bit overprotective and had anger issues, you just knew you had to begin putting up boundaries.

And you really, truly want to be his friend, but his romantic antics are preventing me from seeing him as a friend. And these are the thoughts you have every. single. day. It just doesn't stop honestly.

Your thoughts on Camilo are really harsh, you know, but it's just your negative feelings being bottled up inside because you're way too scared to tell him how you actually feel.

Think of the pain you would have caused him. But not today. Today is the day you finally tell him how you feel and put "us" behind you. You have dinner with Camilo just before the ceremony, so You'll just break up with him during dinner, and go to the ceremony.

A few minutes later, you're done getting ready. You're wearing a white top with a pink layered skirt that goes just above your knees. You spray on your seductive perfume to make a good impression and walk out the door. As you walk through the brightly illuminated town you take a deep breath.

"Alright y/n, you got this!!" you whisper to yourself.

As you walk out to the small patio "secret" area next to Casita, you find Camilo patiently waiting for you and smirks when he sees you.

"I have a huge surprise for you mi vida~," Camilo says in a "seductive" tone.

Could life get any shittier than this?
