Chapter 5: Dread

"Okay all I have to do is get through the week, it's just one week, then maybe I can talk to Sue about this".

*Charlie- "Uh Emily are you okay?".

*Emily- "yup never better".

*Charlie- "Umm alright then".

*Emily- "So what's on the schedule today Charles?".

*Charlie- "It's Charlie".

*Emily- "That's what I said".

*Charlie- "Alright well I was thinking dinner then maybe go to the bookstore, then a long walk in the park".

*Emily- "Bookstore?"

*Charlie- "yup".

*Emily- "Okay maybe you're not as bad as I thought".

*Charlie- "thanks?"

*Emily- "ok let's go" (runs away)

*Charlie- "Emily wait!" (Runs after her).

Sue stares at the horizon waiting for my the time when she can leave and go find Emily.

*Mary- "just a few more hours Sue".

*Sue- "what?"

*Mary- "I know you want to leave already".

*Sue- "what that's not-"

*Mary- "I want to meet them".

*Sue- "who?"

*Mary- "This mystery person I want to meet them, who is it?".

*Sue- "Emily Dickinson and it's no big deal, she's my friend".

*Mary- "uh huh? Okay then".

*Sue- "it's true I just have something to tell her".

*Mary- "oh really?"

*Sue- "it's really no big deal".

*Mary- "whatever you say".

*Sue- (smiles and rolls her eyes)

"Wow you must be starving".

Emily and Charlie had just gotten their food and without thinking Emily began to eat as fast as she could so they could skip to the next and only part of the date that she was actually exited about: The Bookstore.

She wanted to get there as soon as possible but what she didn't realize before was how rude that may seem to Charlie.

*Emily- "sorry".

*Charlie- "It's a good thing I ordered extra".

"How do I make this date go any faster...oh I know, small talk" Emily thought to herself.

*Emily- "so uh did you grow up here?"

*Charlie- "yup been here all my life".

*Emily- "yeah me too".

*Charlie- "ya know, I've always wanted to travel around the world, you know see new places, learn new things".

*Emily- "really?"

*Charlie- "you sound surprised".

*Emily- "no, it's just that we're more similar than I thought".

*Charlie- "is that a bad thing?"

*Emily- "not at all, I think we're gonna be good friends Charlie".

*Charlie- "well that's all I could really hope for right now I guess".
