Chapter 10: Safe

*Sue- "Good Morning Mary, how long have you been up".

*Mary- "oh I've been up for a while...I haven't been feeling too well".

*Sue- "are you alright?".

*Mary- "Yes I'll be fine, oh and Sue there's a note that dropped off for you".

(Sue takes the note that reads "For Sue" and on the back "Open me carefully").

She opens it and reads

"Meet me in the orchard".

*Mary- "It's from Emily isn't it?" (Smirks).

*Sue- (Smiles) "maybe".

Charlie and Chris

Dialogue

*Charlie- "Hey, are you alright? you've been quiet all morning."

*Chris- "it's nothing".

*Charlie- "it's not nothing I'd it's upsetting you like this".

*Chris- (sighs) "My parents are talking about leaving Amherst".

*Charlie- "what! Why?".

*Chris- "They think I need a "new change in scenery"...their doing it for me but that's not what I want".

*Charlie- "what do you want?".

*Chris- "to stay her with you, forever".

*Charlie- "forever is a long time".

*Chris- "I'd spend an eternity with you if given the chance (takes Charlie's hand and kisses it).

*Charlie- "I'm pretty sure that eternity and forever are the same thing but that was cute".

(They hug)

*Chris- "Charlie I'm scared".

*Charlie- "of what?".

*Chris- "losing you".

*Charlie- "Don't worry, no matter what we will find a way to stay together".

*Chris- "promise?".

*Charlie- "I promise".

"Emily?".

*Emily- (Laughs) "up here".

(Sue looks up and sees Emily in the tree)

*Sue- "Emily be careful you could fall".

(Emily gets down and walks towards Sue)

*Sue- "why here?".

*Emily- "it's where we first met".

(Emily walks over and sits by the tree)

*Emily- "I was sitting here and all of a sudden a beautiful girl walks by and I am in awe".

*Sue- "you're quite the charmer aren't you?".

*Emily- "what can I say? You make me crazy Sue Gilbert".

(As they lean in for a kiss a familiar voice calls out in the distance)

*Austin- "Sue! Sue! Where are you? I need to talk to you!".

*Emily- "You know now that we're a thing I think that maybe you shouldn't go out with Austin anymore".

*Sue- "Emily you know that's not really an option and plus, it's safer this way".

*Emily- "How so?".

*Sue- "Well, if I were to just randomly break up with Austin after meeting you then start spending lots of time with you while we are both single, wouldn't that make people suspicious?".
