Chapter 11

Pha and Beam were the first to react. Preeth walked over and putting her hands on her knees bending over the guy on the floor said, "You're lucky it wasn't me who got to you first" Sharp was looking at her mesmerized.

"And you" she pointed to Sharp. "Thanks, but no thanks. I can take care of myself. Stop following me around and giving people the wrong idea. I don't fancy you."

"Let me take you home Preeth" Sharp said

"She has a ride." Pha stated firmly looking at Sharp in the eye. He didn't like what he just heard.

"P'Pha that guy came over and touched Preeth's hair so P'Sharp was just..." Lin was trying to explain

"Thanks Sharp." Beam said. "Preeth's dad asked us to drop her home." Kit came over as well.

"Time to go Preeth" Kit said. Preeth nodded obediently and put on her jacket, grabbed her bag and followed Kit

"We'll drop her home and be back." Pha told the gang at Forth's table who were all on their feet in case they needed help

"What about Sharp?" Ming asked his eyes still on Sharp.

"Let's pick another time to talk to him. I doubt if he's fully sober now" Pha said rushing out.

Beam's phone was buzzing nonstop in the car.

"Your boyfriend missing you already?" Kit teased

"Jealous that yours isn't?" Beam teased back

"We don't need to be in contact 24x7"

"He's just scared you'll bite his head off!"

"At least we're not as obvious as you two!"

"Just love is never enough, is it?" Preeth said looking out the window beaking through the banter. That was enough to shut both Beam and Kit up.

"What do you mean Preeth?" Pha asked. She was sitting in the front seat beside Pha. This was the second time they were talking to her when she was drunk. It was like she had another personality that was hidden when she was sober.

"In a relationship, men need the physical side as well isn't it? The sex... It wouldn't be complete without it"

"Each relationship is different. Sometimes just love can be strong enough." Pha said

"Didn't think you guys would lie to me too" she said with a laugh.

It went silent for a while. The impact of her question made it awkward. Pha turned on the music while Preeth rolled the window down.

"The weather's wonderful isn't it? Might have been better if the ride was on a bike!" she said suddenly.

She unbuckled her seatbelt. "What are you doing?" Pha asked in a panic. He was no longer on the main road. It was a residential area with a beach on one side. "Oh don't worry I always did this as a kid with Pa. This last stretch has no cops" she said and sat on the rim of the window with half her body out of the car, her hands resting on the roof of the car.

"Pha slow down!" Beam screamed instinctively although Pha had already slowed down.

"She's crazy" Kit exclaimed

"Don't worry her house is on the next corner" Pha said.

As soon as the car entered the gates of the house premises, she grabbed her bag, jumped out of the window, and ran away into the night.

"What the hell?" Beam exclaimed following her along with Kit. Pha turned off the headlights to not arouse any attention from the hosts.

Preeth ran to a window and jimmied it open. "Preeth what are you doing?" Beam asked
