Chapter 4:

Pain. That's all I can feel. My head is pounding and for some reason my back hurts. I slowly open my eyes and sit up.

"I hate my life," I quietly groan out loud completely unaware of my surroundings.

Why am I on the floor? I think to myself.

I hear a tapping sound and my eyes dart around the dark room. There is a light illuminating one of the corners of the room. Next to it is what appears to be the back of a man. But why would I be in a dark room with a stranger?

The longer I sit here everything comes back to me. The man turns around.

"You're awake," his voice is deep and a little raspy.

He steps closer towards me.

My eyes dart around in panic. I notice a knife next to me and quickly pick it up. I get into a crouching position as the man continues to come towards me.

"Stay back." I hiss.

He puts his hands up in surrender.

"I mean you no harm," he continues to slowly walk towards me.

"I will stab you." I say in a last attempt to get him to stop coming closer.

"I put the knife next to you so you wouldn't feel afraid when you woke up," he says as he is now in front of me.

"I will stab you." I repeat with a shaking hand.

He doesn't believe me. I can see it in his eyes. My brain begins to work and my defense mechanism kicks in.

I lunge at him and swing my arm diagonally hoping to slice him. He somehow saw me coming and manages to dodge my attack.

I spin around and try again but he uses the position to his advantage. My back is to his front and he grabs me at the waist. I bend my arm back and try to stab him over my shoulder but he predicted that move as well.

Chuckling, he grabs my wrist and pries the knife out of my hand. After securing it in a pocket on the side of his pants he spins me around and looks me in the eyes.

He really is beautiful, strongly built, tall, and has a very intense look in his eyes but he's not human. I'm not exactly sure what he is but I know for a fact that normal people don't turn into wolves.

My eyes dart around him hoping to find an escape somewhere. If I could just make it to the other side of the room. Returning my gaze to his eyes I knee him in his jewels and make a run for it.

He bends over slightly and groans then is silent. Right as I approach the door I'm tackled. Before I could feel the impact of the marble floor he turns us so I land on him.

He quickly flips us so that I'm on my back on the floor with him straddling me and leaning over me pinning my hands above my head. He looks pissed.

I try to wiggle out of his grip but he growls loudly and my movement halts as my face pales. Normal humans don't make sounds like that.

And although I should be scared and don't get me wrong I am terrified, but the sound he just made and the deep quieter growls coming from him right now are calling to some part of me something deep with in me that I've never felt.

"I suggest you don't move like that while under me." He says sharply.

"Why? Never been on top of a girl before," I decide provoking him would be fun.
