Chapter 7:
I glanced over at Levi wanting to say something to reassure him but I couldn't get my mouth to work properly. I was too afraid that he might lash out at me so I remained silent.
Settling in to my seat I faced the passenger-side window and closed my eyes. I could feel the fatigue taking over. As I was falling asleep I felt something warm placed over me.
Cracking my eyes open I saw that Levi placed his jacket over me. A small smile formed on my face as I drifted off to a peaceful sleep.
The following morning
Opening my eyes I noticed the bright daylight streaming in and reflecting off the dashboard directly into my eyes causing me to hiss and close my eyes again.
It's far too bright.
Reopening my eyes I glanced at the clock and noticed that it was already eleven in the morning. Then it dawned on me that we weren't moving.
As I glanced around I not only noticed that we were at the beach but also that Levi was gone.
Frantically sitting up, my eyes searched around for him but I didn't see him anywhere. Unbuckling my seatbelt I took the keys from the car and got out locking it as I left.
Since we're at the beach I should get different clothes. I'm still wearing the dress that Belle provided me with. I spotted a little boutique that sold bikini's. After purchasing a swimsuit and a body wrap I found a changing room and changed out of the dress. Folding the dress up in my arms I returned to the car and placed it on my seat and then left to find food.
After purchasing a breakfast sandwich and smoothie I found a spot on the beach and sat down to eat my food. Once the food was gone I lay down and removed the body wrap. Might as well enjoy the warm sun and sand while I can. Once Levi finds me he will make me leave. I closed my eyes and lay on my stomach so that my back could tan.
Not even ten minutes into my tanning session I felt my body being jerked up causing me to squeal and open my eyes. I saw a fuming shirtless Levi.
"Why'd you do that?" I asked after ripping my arm out of his hold.
He threw his shirt at me that he had been holding in his other hand.
"Cover yourself up. These men look like they'd gladly take you right here" he growled.
"No I don't think I will cover myself up. I was simply trying to enjoy the sun. You brought us to this place for some reason so there is no reason why I shouldn't be allowed to enjoy it." I argued.
"I brought us here because this is where we are to meet Belle's younger brother. I did not bring us here for you to parade around half naked for other men to gawk at looking like they want to bite you." He said getting in my face.
"They're human for crying out loud! They wouldn't do that. You on the other hand, well that's debatable. You're the one that's the wolf Mr. Alpha, does any part of you want to bite me?" I ask a little seductively.
"No......Well maybe" he said looking away. "Just cover up" he grumbled.
"Well I don't care what your reasoning is. I'm not putting that shirt on. I bought this bikini and I fully intend on wearing it today so back off."
Levi didn't like that comment. Next thing I know I'm being dragged off in the direction of the changing rooms.
Levi pushed open the door of one of the rooms and shoved me in. He came in the room with me and then locked the door.
"What the heck" I shouted "why did you do that you piece of–" Levi gripped my chin shutting me up.
"You talk to damn much" he whispered and then pressed his lips to mine.
I was shocked to say the least.
Slowly my hands made their way up to his hair and I tangled my fingers in it. Levi wrapped his arms around me and then slowly moved them down to my thighs and hoisted me up. He began trailing kisses down my neck slowly making his way even further down. He kissed all around my chest staying in some places longer than others. He then made his way back up to my mouth and pressed one last kiss to my lips and proceeded to place me back on my feet.
Once I came to my senses I looked up at him and saw him smirking down at me.
"Why'd you do that?" I asked confused.
Instead of responding he pushed me so that I was standing in front of the mirror. I gasped when I saw myself. He covered me in love-bites. Now I can't parade around in my bikini.
"It's for your own good" he said lowly.
"No it's not for my own good. Nothing was going to happen to me. Especially not with you following me like a damn bodyguard. You did this for yourself because you're selfish and manipulative!" I snatched his shirt off of the floor and put it on as I stormed out of the changing room.
Thankfully no one had stolen my body-wrap or the car keys. I gathered my things and made a beeline for the car. Once I got there I unlocked the doors and climbed in slamming them behind me. Levi got in the drivers seat and we sat in silence.
Have you ever been so mad that you begin to cry? You're not crying because you're upset. You're just crying because you have so much anger and frustration pent up inside you and crying is your bodies way of forcing you to let some of it out. That's my predicament. I tried to hold the tears in. I promise i don't normally cry this much.Its just ever since I met him I've been on an emotional rollercoaster. My body began to tremble as the tears silently streamed down my face.
"Artemis" Levi whispered.
"Just leave me alone, please." I choked out.
I covered my face with my hands in hopes of suppressing my sobs. He's such an asshole. I don't even know why I'm crying. It's just a bikini and a day on the beach.
"Artemis, please just hear me out," he begs.
"NO! Levi just shut the heck up for once and leave me alone god damn it!" I screamed.
Levi gripped the steering wheel tighter and his knuckles turned white.
"If you want to be mad then be mad but I already told you before not to disrespect me so this is strike two. Test my patience again and you won't enjoy the outcome" he raged
"Oh really? And what are you going to do to me? Huh Mr. Alpha" I mocked
"Theres a reason people say I'm more of a beast than a man. Discipline is in my nature. You look like you haven't received a good ass beating in awhile and suddenly my hands are feeling rather twitchy so id suggest you stop testing me if you don't want to be on the receiving end of my hand"
"You wouldn't dare" I said while glaring at him
"Try me" he growled and started up the car.
I'm really sorry I haven't updated. I've been crazy busy. Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! I have gone back and made changes to all the chapters in this book, this one included. The changes aren't major so if you've already read the old versions theres no need to go back but I added some details and edited the dialogue between characters.
