009 | out of harm's way "what the hell?"
GRAYSON sits with his back on the couch as Finn lays his head on his lap, his fingers running through Finn's hair, "do you think aunt Rosie will let me come over?"
His fingers stop, wondering why Finn would even ask such a question, "of course, dude, don't see why not," he shrugs before twirling a strand, "why?"
"I don't want you to leave..."
Grayson's face falls as the cartoon plays in the background, "yenno, you won't be able to stay for long, we have school remember?" Finn lets out a sigh and nods before laying on his back to stare up at his brother.
"I just— I don't like it," Finn mumbles while Grayson uses his other hand to play with his brother's hair, "I don't like being alone and I don't like school."
Grayson knows that Finn is getting bullied. It's not a secret that Finn has come back with a bruise or two, it's not a surprise that a few days afterwards so would Grayson.
"Those losers still bugging you?" Grayson asks as he looks to his brother who turns his back to him again, confirming his answer, "what'd I tell you to do if they still bother you?"
"You just make it worse!" Finn states as he sits up in anger, "I was fine before you did anything."
Grayson frowns slightly at thought of worsening Finn's bullying, "I wanted to protect you." His words just make Finn huff before he finally lays back down.
"No more fighting," Finn mumbles as he tries to relax, "play with my hair, please?" He begs making Grayson scoff out a laugh before he plays with his brother's hair again.
"I'm not trying to fight," Grayson states as he runs his hands through his brother's hair with a sigh, "I just don't like that they bother you."
"After what you did, they don't do it as much."
Grayson had got in a fight between the two kids which led him to get expelled for a week, his mom and Rosie gave him hell while Finn cried. He didn't regret it, he'd do it again if it meant Finn wouldn't come home with another bruise.
"Good," Grayson mumbles as he relaxes before the first question Finn asked pops into his head again, "I'll ask Rosie about you staying over, okay?"
Finn lets out a small cheer only for Grayson to laugh, "if she says yes, do you want play the new game mom got for us?" Grayson lets out a hum in agreement before all their focus is placed on the tv.
