Cordelia's P.O.V.

It was early in the morning as I was padding through the forest it was a bit misty this morning, as it was still pretty early the sun had only just begun to rise. I walked past a big willow tree I gave one look towards it Nelson had moved his den right under it seeing how it's closer to more herbs and berries. I finally reached the town gates and strolled right in. I paused the town was very quiet there wasn't a single Mon out. It looked nice and peaceful as I glanced towards the water fountain in the center. I padded towards it and sat down on the edge deciding to wait for Curtis as he promised to see me again today. As I was waiting I heard movement coming from the forest. I paused feeling my heartbeat, I saw three Houndooms running in a group past the trees. I stood still knowing that their leader wanted me. What does Jermy want with me? Surely it can't be good it must be vengeance because I helped Solarnia. As I waited I got a feeling I was being watched then as I turned around towards Solarnia's house I saw that the curtains moved suddenly as if the shiny Espeon had just closed them. Why is she watching me? Then almost as if she could hear my thoughts her front door opened and she gave me a warm welcoming smile. "Good morning Cordelia, what are you doing up this early?" she asked and I shrugged "Oh I just wanted to go out for a morning stroll," I said. She held my gaze for a bit before she blinked. "Why don't come in? I'll get you some tea or coffee." I smiled she really was warming up to me as a friend. I got up and slowly made my way towards her. She let out a soft purr as I entered her house and sat down at the table, she does have it good in here. She used her psychic power to pour me some tea. I gave a small smile "Thank you."
"So any big plans while you're staying here in Pine Tree Forest?" I felt a bit surprised by the question. I just shook my head in response. "What about you?" I asked and she paused for a bit as if not sure whether she should answer or not, which seemed odd to me. "Well as being town Mayor, it's kind of hard to say."
"Hmm fair enough."
"Well I guess that darkness is still yet to come..." she added. I couldn't help but frown feeling stressed out. Of all things to talk about why did she have to bring that up?
"So, what're your thoughts on it?" she asked. I was caught off guard by the question. I shrugged. "I don't know, it has me worried."
"Why?" I stared at her in confusion. "Hu?"
"Why are you worried about the darkness?" she asked again. "Shouldn't we all be worried? If the world is in great danger?"
"Yeah I suppose you're right, but as an Espeon who can read thoughts I noticed how stressed out you got when I first brought it up." Then she rested her forked tail on my shoulder. "I'm your friend, Cordelia, you can trust me. What do you know?" sudden panic surged through me as I stared at her in shock. Did I make it that noticeable? How did she figure out I know anything at all about it?! I got up. "Thanks for the tea Solarnia but I really should be going." I stammered out nervously aware that I was bad at this. "Oh? And where is it you need to be at this hour?" I glanced outside the window to see that Curtis was now at the water fountain waiting."
"I sort of had plans to hang out with Curtis."
I answered making her facial expression change to a look of surprise. "Really? Your seeing Curtis today?" she walked over towards the window to look. I noticed her purple eyes blazed with anger which made me feel a bit uneasy. She was quiet for a bit before she turned back to face me. "Ok, But before you go I just want you to know." she leans closer to me. "If there is anything on your mind at all you can tell me, I only want to help you, your my dearest friend after all." I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable now as I made my way to the door. "Please come back anytime." I nodded. "OK bye, Solarina," I said padding outside as I ran towards Curtis I could still feel her eyes on me. It almost felt as if her glare would burn right into my skin. When I approached Curtis he smirked at me. "Oh why hello there beautiful." my face turned red now as I began blushing when I turned to look back at Solarina I could see her eyes burning with jealousy then I felt awkward. Oh, no, I think she likes Curtis too.
"Hey Cordelia who are you looking at?" the Jolteon asked and I quickly looked away then I heard her door shut. "I... I just got back from Solarnia's house."
"What?! Why did you go there?" he asked looking a bit troubled by something.
"She just invited me in. And I told you we're friends why is that a big deal?" He looked uncomfortable for a bit and now I was getting suspicious. "Curtis? Is there something going on between you two that I should know about?" alarm now lit up in his purple gaze. "No! Of course not... I just think it's weird because she doesn't like making friends, Solarina never hangs out with anyone... So why you?" he blurted out. I shrugged "Maybe she likes me because when we first met I saved her from the fire." Curtis had a Skeptical look on his face. "Yeah, I guess Come to think of it how did she end up in that situation? She's very clever you know."
"Well, you hang out with her don't you?"
"Yeah, but It's not the same."
"What do you mean?" I was now getting a bit impatient with him. "If you are not friends then why do you hang out with her?"
"Because it's not hanging out, when I'm just running errands for her!" then he froze looking worried as if he said something wrong. I was going to question him further but he spoke before I could open my mouth. "I mean I just help her out every now and then because she's mayor you know It's town business." He remarked. "Ok.." 'And Solarina might like you, why else would she be jealous right now? "Hey, why don't we head out for a walk?" He asked changing the subject he didn't want to talk about her anymore.
Is he hiding something? Or perhaps I'm just overthinking things. I just brushed it off deciding that he was telling the truth. "Yeah let's go," I responded and we both padded off together as we were leaving I noticed that Vixy and Colton were huddled close together talking in hushed tones. I'm usually not the nosey type but I couldn't help but prick my ears up a bit to hear better. But the only thing I could pick up was when Colton asked. "Where does everyone go at night?" Then Vixy just shook her head and shrugged.
I frowned I knew that something just wasn't right with this place. 'I just hope Curtis doesn't have anything to do with what's going on.
