Chapter 3 Pine Tree Forest

I was sleeping in my den Peacefully once I woke up and padded outside Axle was there with a big smile on his face "There you are Cordelia I've been looking for you!" I felt a bit surprised. "What's on your mind?" I asked and he smiled at me. "I got you something but you have to guess what it is." I sat down "Hmm, what could it be? Is it some kind of berry maybe?" He shook his head and I sighed. "I give up." He laughed a bit. "Hehe, I'll give you a clue it's a type of rock, something that you want." I then felt a bit excited "Is it a water stone?" He nodded "Yes that's it! I got you a water stone!" I got excited "How is it that you keep finding stones?" I asked and he gave a cocky laugh. "Hehe, I'm just really lucky." Then he placed it down in front of me and I touched it then I glowed a bright white changing form and I felt myself grow then once it cleared away I ran to the water and looked at my reflection feeling happy. "I'm a Vaporeon now thanks, Axel!" He gave a shy smile "Ahh no need to thank me." Then I looked at him "Now all I have to do is find you a Firestone to repay you." He smiled "No need cuz I'll find it first." I laughed "Well I'm still gonna try who knows maybe I'll be the lucky one next time then it will be your turn to thank me." He gave me a playful shove. "We'll see about that" Then Colton ran up. "Sis you evolved that's great!" He smiled and then looked around "Come on we got to show Nelson he'll want to see." I nodded excitedly and Axle ran after us. "I'll come to. I want to see his reaction," Colton grunted sounding a bit annoyed. As we were walking I couldn't help but notice Colton seemed anxious. "Hey, are you alright?" I asked and he frowned. "I'm not sure about this forest honestly. It just feels off somehow." I got a little annoyed. "You're just being paranoid because you're not used to being in an unfamiliar place." Axle looked around. "If there is one thing off about this place I'd say it has to be that Houndoom pack."
Colton frowned "I don't know I still think it's kinda sketchy here I mean I have seen a few mons that seemed a bit shady." I rolled my eyes and ignored him then as we were getting closer to his den I got excited and began running towards it. Then suddenly I was taken off guard as I bumped into the Leafeon by accident not noticing he was right there in front of me due to him blending in with the tall grass and trees. he dropped a few berries that he was carrying in a leaf bag that was warped around his shoulder.
"Woops im so sorry!" I exclaimed but he didn't seem at all bothered. "No worries." He bent down to pick them back up. Then once he noticed my new appearance he looked surprised. "Oh, you evolved!" I smiled waging my tail excitedly. "Yea Axle found me a water stone." Then as he gathered his berries back into his leaf bag I tilted my head to one side.
"Oh? so those look like healing berries who are they for?" I asked, "I found a Ninetales, she hurt herself near the waterfall. Come see."
I followed him with Colton and Axle at the rear behind me. I stared in awe at the waterfall.
'This forest is so beautiful. then I saw a female crouching near the water's edge.
Colton's fur bristled up in alarm. "Wait what if this is a trap?" Axle shook his head disapprovingly. "I highly dought it Colton, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was that darn Houndoom pack." Then as we approach her I asked. "What happened?" she lifted her head, her red gaze burning into me. She looked pretty young about our age. "I was attacked," she answered this made me think back to what Colton was saying.
"Not a lot of friendly Pokemon around here is there?" She shook her head "I get along with lots of the town's Pokemon. But once out here in the forest, you gotta watch your back. The mayor was warning us about the Houndoom pack nearby, they keep attacking."
"Is that who attacked you?" She looked a bit confused. "No, umm actually I don't remember what happened."
Nelson shrugged his shoulders. "I just found her here laying unconscious. Luckily, I found her."
"Oh, berries!" the Ninetales ate the berries that Nelson gave her then got to her paws. "Hey, thanks for helping me out. I've Never seen you around here before. I'm Vixy by the way. I live in town."
Nelson and I shared a friendly smile. "Nice to meet you Vixy in Nelson, and this is my little sister Cordelia."
I nodded "Pleased to meet you." Then Colton and Axle introduced themselves.
She staggered back up getting on her paws.
"Come by my place sometime." She said as she started walking away then she stumbled a bit and Nelson caught her in time before she fell. "I think maybe you should stay in my den just for a few days to make sure you're all right before you head home." She looked a bit annoyed at first but then relaxed. "Err I suppose. That's very kind of you." I gave an uneasy glance to Nelson. "You don't suppose this place is dangerous do you?"
"No, why would you think? I'm loving it here so far this forest is great and I already found a nice place to live."
I shook my head trying to clear it.
"Oh, I suppose your right.. It was just one of those Houndooms perhaps. But I don't get why they're attacking."
He looked at me "I think Vixy mentioned the mayor warning them. Perhaps I should go talk to them I want to meet the mayor anyway. But I'll do that tomorrow." Vixy snorted a bit. "Hey, sorry to interrupt but is it ok if we get going? I don't want to linger around in case that Pokemon who attacked is still around." Colton looked worried after the Ninetales mentioned that.
Then as the Leafeon was walking away with Vixy leaning on him for support Colton ran after them. "wait up Nelson! I can help!" I watched as they both left leaving me and Axle alone.
The Growlithe shuffled his paws "So, there's a town near wanna go check it out?" He asked and I nodded wanting to take my mind off of what Colton said about the forest being shady. "Alright, let's go check it out." then we padded off together.

After walking through the forest for a while and being careful not to get too close to the Houndoom border we finally arrived at the town entrance.
I gasped in shock there was a statue of Celebi and a sign that said.
Welcome to Pinna Town
I started to feel excited I'd never been to a town before I ran up to one of the shops and looked at the stuff. "Wow.." I breathed out and the Pikachu running the shop looked at me like I was weird and I felt a bit embarrassed. "I'm sorry I'm new here," I said and he nodded. "Oh, ok then." Axel pawed at me. "Come on let's go see what else there is." He walked up to a berry stand then suddenly I heard a vicious snarling coming from somewhere. "YOU IDIOT TAKE THIS!!" Then there was a loud yell as a Houndoom used flame burst in town every Mon gasped in shock as a Jolteon was running away from him without even looking where he was going the Jolteon ran right into me knocking me over. "HEY!" I yelled then I froze as I met his purple gaze and he blushed a bit "Oh.. hehe sorry." The Houndoom bolted up. "HEY, YOU'RE NOT GETTING AWAY!" He barked getting ready for another attack the Jolteon gave me a sheepish smile "Eh.. hehe gotta go." He got up and dashed off right away before I could ask any questions as to why the Houndoom was after him. The Houndoom ran over me stomping on me "OUTTA MY WAY!" I gave a yell of shock as I was trumped by him then Axle got mad and used flam weel on the Houndoom. "you bully leave everyone alone!" The Houndoom shot a quick glare before running off after the Jolteon. "Someone get that Jolteon now!" He started yelling then they left town and the Pikachu at his shop sighed "There's not supposed to be any fighting like that in town. I wonder what that Houndoom's beef was?" I got up and Axle glanced at me "Are you alright? I Can't Believe they both just rudely trampled you like that." He looked a bit annoyed "Gerr those Houndooms are jerks." I nodded not listening I was still thinking of that Jolteon. 'there's something about him.
I looked in the direction that they went.
'what if he's in danger Axel is right those Houndooms are jerks!
I looked at Axle "Let's go find out." I said and he looked a bit puzzled "Hu? Find what out?" I sighed "Aren't you a bit worried about that Jolteon? That Houndoom looked like he wanted to hurt him." Axle frowned then the Pikachu cut in "Umm, I wouldn't worry I saw the Police Arcanines go after them I'm sure he'll be fine." I rolled my eyes feeling a bit annoyed and Axle gave me a look of concern "Is something the matter? We don't even know that guy, and I'm not trying to sound like your brother but how do we know that Jolteon wasn't up to no good?" I gave up. "Ahh your right. Let's just head back home the sun is starting to go down. And now that I'm a Vaporeon im thinking of finding a den in the water now." Axle smiled and waged his tail "Alright, maybe tomorrow we can practice some battle moves you might want to learn some water moves now." I nodded. "Sounds great." And we both padded back.
Once we got back Axle left for his den and I made my way to the river then as I was walking alone I heard a twig crack and I looked in the direction it came from to see the bushes were swerving but no one was there meaning that they bolted off before I could see "Umm... hello?" I called feeling a bit creeped out but got no answer. 'what if it's a Houndoom? But what would they want with me?
I glanced around "Axle? Is that you? Or Colton?" I called then I felt hot with embarrassment as I got no answer hoping no one was around to hear that. 'I probably sound stupid. then I dived into the water finding a comfortable spot for the night.
