Chapter 8 The Houndoom Attack

Cordelia's P.O.V.

I was washing myself near the waterfall when I saw something move close by through the corner of my eye. "Um, hello?" I called out but got no answer. Now feeling curious I began running over. 'OK, whoever you are that keeps stalking me I'm gonna find out!
I thought as I ran over to where I heard the noise come from then I skidded to a halt when I saw Axel jump in surprise. "Oh, Cordelia you scared me!" I sighed. "Hey, Axle have you seen any other Mon who hangs around the lake lately?" He shook his head with a puzzled expression on his face. "Um, no why do you ask?" I frowned. "I think someone is stalking me." he looked bewildered. "what? But what would they want from you?" I sat down feeling just as confused.
'That is a good question. What do they want?
"Well, that's exactly what I'd like to know." Then I got up. "Ah, I think I'm just gonna go for a swim I'll come stop by later and maybe we can go for a hunt or something." He nodded. "OK sounds good and I'm gonna keep a lookout for any strange Mons." I nodded feeling a bit better. "Thanks." Then I padded off towards the water but once got i there I was a bit surprised to see Nelson sitting there. "Hey, Cordelia." He said with a smile. "I was thinking maybe we could go to town together. We haven't spent any time together since we got here." I nodded feeling a bit bad that I only hung out with Colton. 'Even though he can be a bit annoying sometimes. Maybe I'll get a chance to see Curtis if he lives in town.
I thought "Ok, Nelson let go." He smiled and then took the lead. "You know the last time I went with Coltion we ran into the mayor she seemed pretty nice, but we never did get her name maybe we'll see her again I hope." I felt a bit surprised hearing him talk like that. 'Does Nelson have a little crush on her or something?
Then the Leafeon went on. "You know I got this feeling from her I feel like I should get to know her a bit better." I gave him a mocking smile. "Hehe sounds like someone is in love." I teased and then he paused for a bit looking slightly embarrassed. His face turned a little red then shook his head. "Come on now, I don't like her I don't even know her yet." I smiled "Then what's that feeling you get around her?" I asked in a mocky tone he frowned. "I don't know but it can't be love! It's a bit hard to explain but there is something more to her than what meets the eye. It felt like deja vu when I met her." I laughed a bit "How can you have deja vu when it's a complete stranger?" He shrugged his shoulders. "I dunno but I'd like to see her again." Then we reached the town. Nelson and I went in and browsed around a few shops then after an hour went by we decided that we should head back to the forest for a hunt. But then just as we went for the town exit a shiny Espeon came bolting in and sprinted straight towards us. "GET OUTTA MY WAY!!" Her eyes flashed and Nelson and I both got thrown aside as she ran past I got up in a daze of confusion. "Hu? what's her hurry?" Nelson frowned and his ears flattened against his head. "Um, I think it might have something to do with that." He pointed towards a pack of Houndooms Bargain toward the town. I recognized Jeremy right away in the lead. "Oh no, not him again!" I said feeling a bit alarmed. Jeremy and his pack were chasing her. 'But why are they after her?
I thought feeling a bit puzzled then suddenly Jeremy ordered. "Burn this town down! Burn everyone and whatever you do don't let Solarnia escape she must die!" I felt horrified as they all started using flamethrowers and fire blasts setting some shops on fire everyone in town started panicking and the sudden thought hit me. 'Oh no, Nelson! He's a grass type!
Nelson looked horrified by what was happening. "Cordelia we need to get out of here before we get trapped! We both started running as more and more flames started spreading and I saw some Houndooms attacking other Pokemon who were trying to get out and I felt bad. "I'm a water type I should help!" I used my hydro pump then Nelson shoved me. "No don't try and be a hero look you can't put out all the flames all by yourself, there are too many Houndooms." Knowing he was right I followed him only to stop when we realized that more Houndooms were blocking the exit making sure no Mon could get out. 'NOO! I thought feeling desperate for Nelson to get out. The Houndooms were attacking any Pokemon who tried to get out Nelson turned around. "Come on there's got to be another way out! We should try to help others too." I felt horrified as more and more Houndooms used the move overheat and I yelled out with terror then Nelson pulled me. "Come on! I'm not leaving you!" I followed him trying to find an escape route only to be jumped by more attacking Houndooms. "Not so fast!" One called I growled as I realized it was Jeremy. "Why are you doing this?!" He smirked. "it's nothing personal but I can't let anyone get away there are too many Mon's who can't be trusted!" He growled and I spat back at him. "And I know now that you clearly can't be trusted either You a psycho!" He snarled. "Where is Solarnia? Tell me!" I shook my head. "I don't know" Then I used a hydro pump but he dodged it then took off. "I don't have time for you! But you'll die in the fire no Mon is getting out alive!" I gave Nelson a hopeless frown. "Nelson, I'm scared." He looked around then back at me. "Come on" I followed him again but then it started getting harder to see as the smoke got worse suddenly I walked into a shiny Espeon and recognized her right away. "You must be Solarnia." I said then without warning she suddenly grabbed me "Come on I need you Vaporeon." I felt panic as she tugged me away and Nelson hadn't noticed yet. "No! You're taking me away from my brother!" I wailed out feeling panicked. "Nelson needs me he's a Leafeon! He could die!" She hissed "I need you more!" I felt shocked as she led me to the town exit "Come on I'm not ready to die yet! your gonna help me do you know surf?" I shook my head then she pulled out a blue T.M. "I took this from the T.M. Shop you're the only water type I could find so you'll have to do it." Then she gave it to me and right away I could feel the new move I used surf washing all the Houndooms away then she ran for the exit and glanced back at me. "Come on! don't just stand there those Houndooms are trying to kill me." I glanced back at the town then before she could grab me again I bolted away going back into town to look for my brother. I heard her yelling. "No, get back here!" But I ignored her. "Nelsion!" I called "Nelsion!" Then I saw the Leafeon lying on the ground as he was looking very weak from the smoke. I used hydro pumped to put out any nearby flames and went to him grabbing him by the scruff I started dragging him towards the exit but there were too many Panicking Mons and I started getting pushed around then to my relief I made it to the exit and the Houdooms left the town finally. I realized that Jeremy failed in burning down the town as a huge group of water types came and started putting the flames out. I was met by Colton once I made it into the forest 'Oh, thank Arceus the fire didn't reach into the forest!
TheFlareon looked shocked. "Cordelia, Nelson! What on earth happened?!" Then he looked at Nelson. "Oh no! Tell me he's not dead!" I pressed my ear to his chest and felt relieved when I could hear his heart still beating "He's alive but needs oxygen!" I started pumping his chest then eventually the Leafeon started coughing and opened his eyes he looked a bit shocked. "Cordelia, I was worried sick when I lost you. I thought it was over." I hugged him "Nelson you scared us just now I thought we were going to lose you" he smiled "Oh come on now me? I'm not going to die for a long time." Colton hugged us both. "I was worried sick about you both when I saw the smoke coming from Pinna town." Then another thought hit me. 'What about Soarnia? I completely ditched her I should go see if she's okay.
"Hey, I'll be right back there's something I wanna go check out first." They both looked puzzled then Coltion spoke. "You're not going back to the fire are you?" I shook my head "There is no fire it's out now but I just want to make sure my friends in town are okay." Then I took off without another word looking for the shiny Espeon hoping she was okay then I heard a vicious snarling and I padded towards it right away then I started to hear voices and caught sight of Jeremy and his pack they had Solarnia surrounded I felt alarmed seeing that.
'Oh no! I gotta help her!
Jeremy laughed. "Haha I finally got you! Give it up Solarnia I know your intentions." I paused feeling puzzled. 'Hu? What What is he talking about? Does he know something? I hid in tall grass as he went on. "I'm not letting you have that ritual! Darkira is not to come do you understand? it ends here!" Then she frowned. "Why... I... I don't know what you mean." She looked frightened. "You're a crazy Houndoom! Please let me go." She begged looking scared and defenceless. He snarled. "Your lying! You think you're so smart but I'm gonna kill you!" He lunged at her and used a dark pulse and she screamed. "AHH!! HELP ME! Someone help me!" I ran out and shoved the Houndoom off of her right away feeling great hate towards Jeremy.
Solarina gasped. "You came back for me!" Jeremy got up and glared at ... "What the? You again? Listen you brat this doesn't concern you!" I snarled "Well it does when you try to burn down a whole town what is your problem, Jeremy? You have serious issues that you have to try to kill everyone?" He growled, "You can't stop me!" He then tried to use another dark type move but I got out of the way in time and avoided it using surf hitting all of them at once. Solarina jumped to my side and used a dazzling gleam. "Go home Jeremy you lost this battle." She hissed the Houndoom and gave a nasty snarl. "Fine but know this Solarina I'm coming for you!" Then he left with his pack close behind him I glanced at her. "Are you ok?" I asked and she nodded. "Yeah, thanks for coming to my rescue I thought I was a goner." I couldn't help but ask the question. "So um, what was Jeremy talking about? Why does he want you dead so bad?" She frowned looking a bit worried herself. "Well I knew he was crazy but I didn't think he would cause such terror for the town. All I did was cross his border once and right away he started making up these weird stories about me and wants me dead. But I honestly have no clue what he was talking about I think he might have lost his mind." I raised an eyebrow. "Hmm, That is kinda strange but I'm just glad you're OK. I'm sorry I ditched you back there. I was just worried, for my brother.." I was relieved to see understanding in her purple gaze then she let out a purr. "I'm just grateful you cared enough to come back for me. Oh, let me introduce myself I'm Solarnia the mayor of Pinna town." I smiled already liking her. 'Wow, she seems very nice I'm glad she's the mayor.
"Well I'm Cordelia, my two brothers and I just moved into Pine Tree Forest about a moon ago." She nodded "Yes I Believe I met them the other day Colton and Nelson right?" I felt a bit surprised that she already knew them. 'But Nelson did tell me and the the way he keeps talking about her. He probably likes her.
She smiled. "I've seen you a few times I pay close attention to newcomers. Don't take it the wrong way it's just there are so many bad Mons in this area I had to make sure you guys were okay to have around." Then it hit me as I remembered the Mon that was watching me.
'It was her' I felt a little creeped out as I met her purple gaze and then she went on.
"But I'm glad I finally get to meet you. Cordelia... that's a pretty name for a Vaporeon." I blushed a bit at the compliment. "Well thank you." She purred. "Why don't you come over to my place for tea? I was thinking maybe we could hang out." I shook my head "I should get back to my brothers." She nodded. "OK, I'll see you around then. Maybe if you're up for it we could go for a hunt sometime?" I nodded feeling great.
Wow, I made another friend and she's the mayor. Just as I got up to leave my two brothers came walking towards us. Nelson looked surprised "Oh it's you again." Colton frowned at the sight of her. "Umm Cordelia, why are you with her?" I felt a bit puzzled but then she broke in. "Your sister here saved me from those Houndooms I hope that's not a problem." He looked down at his paws in shame after. Nelson smiled at her "Solarnia is it?" She nodded. "Umm yea." Then she started licking her paw and drawing it over her ear I rolled my eyes. 'Oh boy here it comes. Nelson blushed a bit. "Well if you're up to it I was thinking maybe you could come over for a visit. I'd like to get to know you a bit better." She just flickered her ear. "Yeah no thanks... maybe once you cool down a bit then I might come over." Nelson looked embarrassed and I laughed a bit "Hehehe" And Nelson sighed "Oh... I didn't mean it like a date or anything but yeah some other time would also be great." Then Colton grumbled, "Or maybe instead of making hang-out planes with a stranger we just go home and carry on with our lives." I glared at him. "Are you Serious Colton?! You don't even trust the mayor of this town?" He turned his head away. "Just because she's mayor doesn't mean she's safe." Solarina just rolled her eyes. "Yeah, whatever but like it or not your sister has a mind of her own." I nodded. "yea I can make new friends if I want to and you know what I like Solarnia and plan to hang out with her." Colton did not look happy while Nelson looked lost in thought for a bit "Oh yeah well that's good but I think we should go now. I just hope no Mon got hurt from the fire." Solarina then looked stressed out. "Oh, I forgot the town needs me right now I should go!" Then she ran off and my brothers and I padded home.
'Maybe I should stop by the town later just to see how they're recovering.
