Chapter 43

Mix Up

Heaven's POV

I gasp and wake up. I'm outside under a tree. The tree I fell asleep under. I gasp again when I see Drew and Alec standing in front of me.

"Umm... What's going on?" I asked them.

"Alec wants to tell you something" Drew said.

Alec smiles a little and then says, "Heaven. You should know that you really don't like me like you like Drew."

"How do you know?" I asked.

"Well the reason you have feelings for me is because.... I'm your brother Heaven. I'm Brad" he said.

"What!?" I yelled. "You don't even look like Brad! If you guys are trying to be funny, you're horrible!"

"He's telling the truth" Drew said.

"When you get turned into a vampire, you're body changes" Alec explained.

"Why is your name Alec then?" I asked.

"The vampire that changed me and Jeremy picked our names" he said.

"Where's Jeremy?" I asked him.

"You know him as Brian now" he said sadly.

I start to cry because I feel so confused.

"Hal, don't cry. Aren't you happy that I'm not really dead?" he asked.

I nod and stand up. I run to Alec and hug him tightly.

"I'm glad you got away from our parents" he told me. "And I'm happy Drew has been taking care of you."

I smile and turn to Drew. My smile turns into a frown then. "I'm so sorry" I said.

He smiles a little and shrugs. "It's whatever." He turns around and starts to walk back to the house.

I look down and shake my head. He's given me so many chances and I've abused all of them. Now he's done giving me chances and the worst part is, he has a good reason to.

"Hey sis?"

I look up at Alec.

"Why don't you go talk to him?" he asked.

"He's done giving me chances" I whispered.

"So? You can still talk to him" he pointed out.

"I seriously doubt he wants to talk to me."

"Stop making excuses and go talk to the guy!" Alec pushes me toward the house and gives me a look that says, listen.

I sigh and say, "Fine." I walk slowly back to the house with him.

When we get to the house, everyone stops talking when I walk in. I hate when you can totally tell people were just talking about you. I guess everyone knows about this... mix up.

I sigh and go up the stairs. When everyone is out of sight, I hear whispering coming from them. Great.

I go to Drew's room and knock. There's no answer so I slowly open the door. "Drew?"

"What do you want Heaven?" I heard him ask.

I open the door the rest of the way and see him leaning against the wall across from the door.

"Can I talk to you?" I asked him.

"About how sorry you are for doing this to me again? I think I'll take a rain check" he said bitterly.

"Drew. Please" I begged quielty.

"Heaven, I've given you lots of chances and you know that. I'm giving up on us dating. Sorry but I'm done" he said.

I look down at my feet and feel tears stinging at my eyes. I can't believe we are in this situation yet again. "I don't want you to be done with me" I whispered.

"Well you should have thought about that before you messed with my heart yet again" he said harshly.

"I didn't mean to" I told him.

"I don't care."

I look up at hm and yell, "I'm sorry! I was just confused! Can you freaking blame me?"

He shakes his head. "I don't know."

I sigh. "I want things to go back to how they were before Alec showed up this time" I said quietly.

"So if we get back together, I'm going to have to keep you away from good looking guys so this won't happen again" he said, glaring at me.

"No! The only reason I had feelings toward Alec is because he's my brother! Somehow I knew he was my brother without me actually knowing it." I glare right back at him.

"Ugh! This is all so fucking stupid!" he yelled.

"You're telling me" I said. I look down at my feet again.

I hear him take a deep breath and then hear him coming over to me. He hugs me and I hug him tightly back.

"I'm sorry" I whispered.

"Me too. I just get jealous easily and it hurt so badly when you broke up with me" he said.

I sigh and say, "I am such a bitch."

"Nah. Just really difficult" he told me.

I smile a little. "Thank you for being so nice about this."

"I can't stay mad at you for long" he admitted.

"So where do we stand right now?" I asked him, scared of the answer.

"Not dating. I need some time to get over this fully. But I'm not mad at you anymore."

I look up at him. "So a little more than friends?" I asked.

He smiles. "Sure. At least that means I can still do this." He kisses me softly.

"Yay" I said quietly.

He laughs and says, "Let's go downstairs and explain some things, shall we?"

I nod and step back from him. He takes my hand and pulls me down the stairs.

I have a smile on my face the whole way. We're not dating, but this will due for now.
