(Amity's pov)

I lay in bed as the sun shines through my window, waiting for my alarm to pull me out of my thoughts. Instead, my door let out a small knock. My eyes snapped to my door as my body rose.

"Come in"

Amelia pokes her head in my room and lifts her eye brow. "You're up early, you ok?" I nodded my head somberly as she made her way to my bed, sitting down on the edge. "Yeah, just couldn't sleep. What's up?" I study her face as she goes to answer. Amelia and I are close, closer than me and the twins. Normally one of the twins or the maid checks to see if I'm up, so my mind is racing on why she did this morning. She looks tired but mostly worried, what happened?

"I was talking to Lucia last night," I rolled my eyes and sighed as I spoke.

"Is she sending mixed signal again?" I arch my eyebrow and send her a smirk. Her Face turns red as she glares at me.

"No! Amity this isn't a Lucia thing." I immediately drop my smirk. Whenever Amelia tells me that, it normally means Luz. "Wionna texted me around Three this morning, which isn't normal." I nod my head as she continues, "She was," she thought about what she wanted to say, "worried in a way. She told me that Lucia turned down going out and that something happened." My mind immediately went to that night Luz showed up at our front door. I could tell Amelia knew where my mind went because she softened her voice and put her hand on my shoulder. "Nothing that bad. I reached out to Lucia and made sure they were ok." My shoulders relaxed a bit at that, but I still made a note to check on Luz when I get to school.

"Is Luz ok?" I asked in a hushed voice.

"Lucia said that she was having a bad panic attack last night, but she calmed down once Lucia stayed with her." Amelia started to rub my back, "she is going to be ok Ames, she just needs to get out of there." I nodded and laid my head on her shoulder. We stayed like that for a few minutes before she spoke up. "So how is it going with the dork anyway?"

I sat up as a blush spread across my face. "Its.... it's going good."

"Have you asked her yet?"

"Well...no, I don't know if now the right time is. Plus, what if she says no? I mean prom is three weeks away and I just..."

Amelia turns towards me and sighs, "what if she says yes?" She grabs my hands and gives them a squeeze. "Amity, you are a very smart, caring person. Luz may be oblivious at times," I let out a little laugh, "but she isn't blind. Think about it, you were a bully to her when you guys first meet and yet she still wanted to be your friend. She pushed and pushed, now look at you, you are the person she goes to for help. If she were to say no, then she would be missing out on an amazing person. I guarantee you; she would say yes. Trust me"

I look at her and think about what she said. She lets go of my hands and points at me. "The key to winning her over though," She leans close and whispers the next part. "Confidence" she gives me a small smile and ruffles my hair. "Time to get ready for school. I'm driving you today so be ready to go soon." She stands up and walks out of my room.

I drag myself to the bathroom to get ready. I get dressed and brush my hair and teeth and make my way downstairs. I reach the end of the staircase and am met with the aroma of bacon, sausage, and maple syrup. I walk into the kitchen and see Mrs. rose at the stove preparing breakfast. She looks up and smiles.

"Good morning, Miss Amity. Breakfast will be out soon, please join your family in the dining room."

I give her a confused nod. Mrs. Rose normally makes breakfast on the weekends when we are all together and it's not-
