Chapter 5: A confession

(This one is going to have two point of views. Between Amity and Luz.)

(Amity's POV)

"So, I can take you to your last surprise. We can't do it with all of our stuff, but the locker will keep it safe." The brunet explains while shoving our stuff into the locker.

"Another surprise?" I question and she nods and locks up our locker. She turns to me and smiles a goofy grin and holds out her hand. Hiding my blush, I take it and she leads me out of the locker room.

"I promise, it's the best one. That's why I saved it for last." She sends me a wink. My blush immediately starts to grow, sending heat not just to my cheeks, but to my ears. Thank God she was looking around and not at me.

As we make our way through the crowd, I looked around at all the lights and rides. I look back to Luz and the focus on her face.

I needed this.

Luz's eyes widen and a grins forms on her face as she comes to a stop. I look to where her eyes were looking and in front of me was a giant, lit up wheel. My voice came out quiet. "No.... way.." My eyes stayed on the ride, but I could tell Luz was looking at me. I could feel her get close to my ear, her breath sending shivers down my back. "Are you ready?" I turn my head to her and nod. She hands the carnie two tickets and holds the small door open for me. She smiles at the carnie and sits next to me closing the door.

The wheel began to move, and I looked at Luz. Her eyes were already on me but shifted when mine meet hers. A small blush formed on her face as she looked away.

She is blushing!?! Oh my God, ok calm down. It was probably a light from the wheel. Yea yea a light.

I keep my eyes on her for a little bit and take in her features. I don't know how long it was but when we came to a stop, I looked around and my eyes went wide.

(Luz's POV)

I open the door to the cart for Amity and she gets in with a smile. I hand the carnie a 20 and pointed to the top. He gave me a small nod and a grin. Smiling, I got in the cart and shut the door. When the wheel started moving, my nerves spiked, and I felt sick to my stomach.

Shit not again.

I tried to calm down, but nothing was working. My eyes made their way to Amity and almost instantly my nerves went away. She looked amazing, her hair, dress, eyes, everything about her was amazing. Her head turned and amber eyes meet mine. I quickly looked away, trying to hide the blush forcing its way to my cheeks. I could feel her eyes still on me but all I could do is look around. We were getting closer to the top and my nerves spiked again.

Am I ready? I don't know.....what if she laughs, or.......

I blink a few times to get the thoughts out.

I can do this

The wheel comes to a stop, and I turn to the girl next to me. She sits there eyeing the sight in-front of her and her eyes light up from the lights below us. I take a deep breath and clear my throat.

Now or never

"What do you think?" Her stare stays on the carnival and a smile finds its way to her face. "It's beautiful. I have never seen anything like it." She looks at me and smiles, a light blush dusting her face. I don't even try to hide mine anymore and I grab her hand. "Amity, there is something I have been thinking about for a while," She fully turns to me and nods. "Okay" My breath comes out shaky as my eyes work their way to hers. "Amity, I.... You're an amazing person and I love being with you. You make everything ok. Whenever I need help or a place to stay, your always there for me." I look into her eyes and squeeze our hands. My hands start to shake, and I try to stop but Amity notices before I can. Her hands squeeze mine and her body shifts closer to mine.
