Second Decade

I cocked my head to the side. I squinted my eyes and nothing changed. I reached my lowest point when I lied on my back on the bed and hung my head off the edge. Brown legs came into view.

"What are you doing?"

I sat up pushing my hair out of my face, "She looks like you."

Matthew turned around and plucked his twin out of her walker.

It's been a pretty smooth five months. Matt and I would get into our silly arguments every now and again and as twisted as it sounds, I'm glad we did. We were still passionate and cared enough to fight. Of course, I might have started most of the bouts of bickering.

How could I not?! As soon as my stitches healed, my libido was kicked into overdrive. And let's be honest, make-up sex is the fucking best. The dirty talk, the whimpers, the biting, all of it was just so hot.

Besides me and my boyfriend getting reacquainted with each other's bodies, my baby girl was getting bigger and bigger and looking less and less like me.

"I know. Say 'those Cuban genes are strong mami'." He kissed her all over her face.

"Whatever." I got off the bed, tapped Posey's nose and kissed her daddy. I headed to the bathroom and put my hair in a bun so it wouldn't be in my way when I wash my face. As soon as I rinsed and opened my eyes, I saw Matty's reflection in the mirror.

"Hello sexy stalker."

He didn't answer me, just started playing with my hair. I smirked and shook my head.

"'What's so funny?" He asked.

"You lover. You know you like my hair."

I had searched high and low, looking for a good hairdresser. She sewed in some weave and I became a brand new person. When I came through the door, Matthew dropped everything and ravished me at the door. We usually get really rough and he does whatever he wants to with me. But when he reached in my hair I hit him in the stomach... 'by mistake'.

I had to explain to him that he had to hold off on the hair pulling until I got the hair taken out. And while my head was in the clouds since then, he's been trying his hardest to pull me back down to Earth.

"I'm just not a fan of all the rules that come with it."

I gave me a look, "You can wait a little while longer."

"Hellooooo! Birthday Girl!"

We both shook our heads as we heard Ivy make her grand entrance.

"Where are you guys?!"

"Up here Ivs!"

She finally found us and we all embraced in a group hug. We have all gotten pretty close. Especially Ivy and I. I had finally got me one of those best friend people!

As I hugged her I noticed she had gained some healthy weight.

"I see your packing on relationship pounds." I teased.

Her mouth fell open and, "You get a pass for today, Granny. Why are you still in pajamas? It's your birthday!"

I sighed. Yeah it was. I have officially moved into the second decade of my life. I shooed Matty and Ivy out so I could shower. Before I hopped in I checked my phone.

I started missing my mom. She couldn't have been that upset about what I had said. What about what she had done? How dare she not call me for this long as though it were my fault?

I didn't want to feel the hot tears streaming down my face and was thankful that the shower water washed them away as quickly as they appeared.

I got out, moisturized, and got dressed. I decided on a pale yellow maxi skirt and a white baby doll shirt. I wanted to wear a crop top but damn these stretch marks! I've been putting on cream and they were starting to fade but they hadn't faded completely. I finally slipped on some sandals and went downstairs.

I jumped out of my skin as I heard the off-key singing from Matthew, Ivy and Ollie but then I smiled as I heard Posey and Gracie's babbling. I kissed the babies first. Then Ollie enveloped me in his skinny arms. I had no clue he was so inked underneath those God awful work clothes. He had two sleeves and some leg work, I always admired body art. After moving from the tattooed teenager, I hugged my Ivy then lastly, my man.

He loves to get me all flustered so he deepened the kiss and gripped my ass. I was breathless afterwards, Ollie was super red and Ivy was gagging. I gave her the finger and noticed plates at the table.

"Who cooked?" I asked reaching for the fruit.

"Uhm. You mean, who catered?" Matthew asked shyly.

"Would it kill you lazy jerks to cook once in a while?" I motioned for everyone to sit and scooped Mariposa out of the playpen.

Even though there was no home cooking, the food was pretty good. Fruits of all kinds lined the table and I was in heaven.

"Don't worry. We watched the farmers pick the fruit. All organic, no pesticides, ripe and ready. Just how you like it." I can't believe she remembered. Well actually I could. Everywhere we went I had something to say about organic goods. I'm just so happy to have her in my life. I grabbed her cheeks and kissed them from across the table.

"So what did you have planned for today?" Ollie asked while we were eating.

I sipped at my coconut milk, "Well I just wanted to spend time with you guys. Do you and Ivy have to work?" He had gotten Ivy a job at the same place he works. I'd come in, tease her about her uniform, get free food, bother her a little more then leave.

Everyone agreed that we'd take a trip to the beach and just hang. I was turning twenty. It wasn't as big as turning twenty-one but two decades of life was still a major milestone. I really wanted to have a day out with people that I love. After brunch, Ivy and I cleaned up while the guys got the kids ready. Ollie even went by Ivy's apartment to pick up a bathing suit and sure enough he brought back the skimpiest one he could find. She gave him a look and he smiled sheepishly.

I did a final once-over of the house and headed for the door but then I heard my name. I turned for Matthew and he had my life in his hands.

"Baby. No jodas conmigo."

He laughed, "Soy serio,té curativa."

I set Mariposa's car seat down and jumped into Matty's arms, "I get to drive?"

He nodded his head and I attacked his lips. I haven't driven my car since I moved in. It's been hibernating in his garage for over a year.

"Okay, we'd like to get to the beach before you give birth to Mariposa #2." Ivy and Oliver were standing by the front door with the same expressions are earlier.

I reluctantly slid down my tree-like man, "You and Ollie are lapping up." Then I remembered something, "Shit. We have to install the car seat bases."

"Okay well I'm going to take out the trash and then come help you guys."

"Okay Ol."

I was opening up the garage door when I heard my name, "Nope. I want to drive my baby and I don't need any distractions.

"Are you sure? I come bearing gifts." I froze. I actually ceased all movement when I heard that voice.

"Hey baby, did you order something?" I saw Matt at the other end of the garage talking to a guy with a company logo on his shirt. I closed my eyes, said a quick prayer before closing the door.

I finally moved from the door and saw that my mother had her arms opened wide, "Happy twentieth birthday, baby!"
