𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐘 𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓,
𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫.

𝐀𝐋𝐋 eyes were on 'the Hotchner's' as they entered the BAU, you wouldn't notice much different in Aaron's attire, not unless you looked closely. Yet Averie looked like she'd been to a funeral, dressed in classic black court heels, a knee length black dress and a matching blazer, her copper hair laid in a low ponytail, the couple's hands interlaced.

Rossi greeted them first, Spencer a second later wrapping an arm around Averie's shoulders, "How was it, are you okay?" The doctor quizzed, rubbing her shoulder with gentle motions.

"Yeah, er, she got 2 years, self defence, they said maybe she'd get out earlier with good behaviour, go on probation" Averie explained, taking a deep breath, "She's nineteen, Spence', she looked so skinny, so fragile, I-" She paused, eyes connecting with the figure in Aaron's office, "Is that Sean?"

Spencer didn't get a chance to reply, as Averie jogged slightly to catch up with Aaron, looping her arm through his. They entered his office, Aaron cleared his throat, Sean looked up quickly, a low whistle falling from his lips, "Look at you, Mrs Hotchner, you look stunning even in black, gorgeous may even be the better word-"

"Where in the hell do you get off?" Averie scoffed, "I'm married to your brother, I'm carrying your brothers baby, and yet for some idiotic reason you think it's appropriate to talk to me, to talk about me like that?"

Sean's smile dropped, his mouth widening slightly as he looked between his brother and his brother's wife, Aaron had never felt prouder of his red-headed wife, she shook her head, turning away from Sean, "I'm going to see if Spence' will help with my criminology class, you-" She threw a dirty look at Sean, "Have fun dealing with him..."

"What the hell is her issue?"

Averie left his office quickly, making her way to the bullpen, Spencer pulled up a chair to his desk immediately a small smile on his face, "How's our favourite profiler prodigy?" Derek asked, glancing down at her pregnancy bump.

"She's definitely taking after her father, constantly moving, she barely ever sleeps" Averie laughed, Derek held out a hand waiting patiently for her permission which she granted with a smile.

"Oh definitely a BAU baby then, our girl already knows no sleep is the way to go" Derek chuckled, rubbing the bump, "She's gotten bigger hasn't she? Probably sporting a giant genius brain in there" He added.

"Look at her family, hope she's going to be a little genius, I doubt her Uncle Spence' is gonna' let her be anything but that" Averie grinned at the doctor, "And of course her Uncle Derek is going to tease her constantly for it"

"Damn straight, bless the poor boy that ever wants to ask our girl out on a date, she's got her own team of FBI agents backing her up" Derek joked, removing his hand from her bump.

Averie was more then comfortable with Spencer, as he quizzed her on body behaviour and crime scene analysing, "Yes! Mint cookie for you" He praised, throwing one of the bite sized cookies up in the air, Averie caught it in her mouth instantly.

"Best revision method ever" She joked, turning her attention back to the case file, "So, er, my Mom showed up at the hospital yesterday..."

"She did? Is she alright? Are you alright?" Spencer questioned, chewing on a cookie himself.

"She thought I was high, or drunk when I rang her, she didn't know John was dead, it's been all over the news and, ugh, instead of asking or trying to talk to her, I-I just walked away" Averie sighed, leaning her head in her hands, "Does that make me as bad as my dad?"
