𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐘𝐎𝐑𝐊,
𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧.𝐈𝐓'𝐒 Sunday evening when Averie see's her husband again, entering the home they shared with flushed cheeks and anxiety in her veins. She was excited, they was no denying that but still she was more then nervous, "Mimi's just fell asleep, she's in the guest room - well, until we finish the nursery" Aaron greeted her, taking the large gym bag from her hands.
Averie nodded, a small smile on her face as slipped of her shoes, "Have you ate? We could get takeout, I'm pretty sure that Chinese you like is still open" He continued, glancing down at his watch to check the time.
"Ok, sure, yeah" Averie agreed, pulling the short strands of her hair behind her ears, "Do you mind if I go upstairs and start packing?" She asked.
Aaron frowned at her wording, placing her bag down on the stairs and approaching his wife, "Ava, this is still your home" He assured, carefully placing a hand around her waist, "I'm still your home for as long as you want me, I'm yours"
Crying broke out through the baby monitor, Averie's eyes straying away from Aaron's, "I'll go get her...will you order the Chinese?"
He nodded, watching Averie as she made her way up the stairs, it felt strange for her, it'd been just over two weeks now since she'd actively lived in the house. She entered the guest room with a small smile, "Hi, baby" Averie whispered, lifting the crying baby into her arms.
And for once, Amelia Hotchner actually quieted, her loud cries dying down to soft whimpers, Averie was ecstatic as she quickly made her way down the stairs, Aaron leaned against the kitchen side, "Aar'! She stopped crying, she-she actually stopped crying when I got her, she-look she's not crying" Averie rambled, grinning like crazy.
Aaron beamed down at his wife and young daughter, looping his arms around Averie's waist and she leaned in to the embrace, "My clever girl" She whispered, stroking Amelia's cheek, Aaron pressed a soft kiss against his wife's forehead.
"My sweet, sweet girls" Aaron added.
It's another half an hour until the food arrives and for those thirty minutes Averie didn't let go of her now sleeping daughter, she sat on the couch with the infant flush against her chest. Aaron grabs the chopsticks, plates and napkins, "Want me to put her down in the bassinet?" He offered.
"Sure, yeah" Averie agreed, lifting their daughter into his arms.
"Oh, I know, daddy's got you, princess"
He comes back a moment later, Averie cross legged on the sofa, the two plates now plated with food, more for Aaron of course - she suspected he'd not been eating as well as he usually does with her, "Thanks, Ava" He joined her on the sofa.
They eat in peace, the news is on but neither are really watching it, "Have you been to work?" She asked.
"No, have you?"
"No, although they keep ringing me in, I don't think they understand the actual meaning of maternity leave, 'it's an emergency', most ER surgeries are" Averie complained in between each bite, shrugging her shoulders.
"I haven't been to work, but they ring, whenever they got stuck on something small, I actually like it, even when I'm not there they still value my opinion" Aaron admitted.
She gave him a small smile, "Of course they value your opinion, your their leader, they respect you - they adore you"
They didn't say much else, Aaron offered to wash up whilst Averie began to pack her bag. It's 11pm when he made his way upstairs, setting Amelia down in the guest room before heading towards his room, "Are you nearly finished?" He asked, watching Averie struggle to fasten her suitcase.
