𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐎𝐎 𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐋,
𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧.𝐀𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐍 appreciated Averies' honesty, when she woke up in floods of tears and asked if they could book an appointment with Dr Wyatt he agreed, tried not to pry but anxiety filled him for the remainder of the day. She was the one to drop of Amelia at Spencer's apartment, taking herself straight to Wyatt's office.
Her husband joined half an hour later, sweaty palms as he took a seat, Averie flashed him a short smile, "Well, I have to say I was surprised when I saw the name of my two least favorite patients on my schedule... is everything okay?" Wyatt asked, genuine concern clear in her voice.
"Better then before" Averie admitted, "I want to talk about what we talk about alone but not yet, maybe later on, I need help with it but I'm not ready for the help yet" Averie spoke through closed eyes, biting at the skin around her thumb.
"I think it's funny how the serious conversation always come after the 'better than before' line, I'll never think of this phrase the same way I did before. Anyway..." Wyatt placed both her hands on top of her open notebook as she crossed her legs, a polite smile on her face when she assumed her therapist facade again, "How was your week, Hotchners?"
"I mean we had sex, so pretty good" Averie joked, a sad smile on her lips, "I think we are good, I'm guessing you knew before even I did that I hadn't truly forgiven Aaron for the whole career shit, but I have, I realised at the Gala, we know eachother now I think... it was a really good night" She has a ghost of smile on her face.
"I though I said I didn't wanna know about your sex life, Averie... but I know the feeling, so I'll let it pass" Wyatt teased, "I imagined, not knew. We never know everything, we just make assumptions based on what we receive and work on it. But how does it feel to really know your partner?"
"I tell everyone about our sex life besides Mila it's probably the thing I'm most proudest off" She gave a small laugh, reaching over to squeeze Aaron's knee, "I think we trust eachother better now... I don't hide away from my feelings as much and I really don't want too"
"And how's the search for a new house going?"
Averie looked down to the floor, twiddling her fingers "We haven't looked yet..." Aaron revealed.
"Is there any particular reason, or...?" Dr Wyatt questioned, looking between the couple.
"Time, I think. Mila's been taking up a lot of our attention" Averie shrugged her shoulders, "But we will" She adds quickly.
"Well, you know that if you want to, Rossi and I can take care of Mimi, if it'll make you go to the next step, I'm happy to help"
Whilst Aaron gave the woman a grateful smile, Averie continued to bite at the skin of her thumb, "I feel guilty being away from her. I spent so much time at the beginning resenting her and now she's growing so fast. I don't want to loose a second of it and I-" She paused to look at her husband, his arms crossed against his chest, "I don't want to force Aaron to do something he might not be ready for"
"I am ready, Averie!" His voice raised in frustration, shocking both women in the room, "Really, I love the house and the memories I have there, and I still love Hayley and Jack with all my life, but..." Aaron stopped, uncrossing his arms and reaching for his wife's hand, his thumb caressing it slowly, "I love you and Mimi, and all I want is to create new memories with the two of you"
"You can tell me if you aren't" She admitted, "I don't want you to think I don't care or I'm rushing you or"She sighed, "I love you, and I know how much you love them" Averie leaned into his embrace.
