What the fuck am I doing. I'm taking what she's giving me and want every second of it with her. It was nothing more than a kiss frozen in time because when my lips hit hers, I saw everything, I saw our future together, married, kids, house, everything. Thank God Karver yelled out my name and was getting closer to the laundry room. I pulled away from her with a smile that matched hers before grabbing and throwing on my t-shirt.
"In here."
"What y'all doin'?" Karver asked confused looking back and forth between us.
"I needed a shirt and my boots. Ma washed it all this morn." Karver nodded understanding.
"What you doin' now?"
"Runnin' to Taylor's, imma take her to prom, need to see her dress and shit."
"Damn."
"Why Karv?"
"I bored."
"You can come with us." I looked over at Taylor slightly shocked she said it, and she looked a bit shocked at herself.
"Yea?" He asked, I shrugged.
"I mean it ain't like we're doin' anything crazy. Just gonna look at her dress." Karver shrugged at my words.
"Let's go." I rolled my eyes and followed Taylor out of the room. I watched her drive to her house closely as I followed behind in my truck. I made quick work of memorizing the color blue of her dress and took a few pictures so I wouldn't fuck this up. Then Karver and I left.
I picked Taylor up two days later exactly the time she asked me to.
"How the heck did you find a tie that matches?" I just smiled at her. "And oh my gosh you're wearing a tie!" I ran my hand down it.
"I mean I can clean up Tay."
"You can."
"You gonna end up with a boyfriend by the end of the night in that dress though, damn. You look..." She smiled as I let my words die off not wanting to make any of this more than it was for her. It was bad enough I kissed her two days ago and the taste of her lips was still lingering on mine.
"Oh, shut up Abbott." She laughed as I helped her up and in my truck. "This truck ain't made for a dress."
"Least it ain't a short one." I winked and she pursed her lips.
"Facts." She laughed and put her seat belt on as I closed the door. I ran around the truck and hopped in. "Thank you for this seriously."
"Anytime. If seein' you in a dress is the uh reward." I laughed forgetting the words I was actually trying to say.
