Kieffer
(Summer 2021)
Was I goin to be able to get over the fact Taylor hid something this huge from me? Yep. It's easy, I either take it and move forward and have a relationship with my son, a relationship with Taylor, or I run. Abbott men don't run from shit.
I left Taylor's apartment in a slight daze; the kid looks just like me it's insane. I sat in my truck for a good fifteen minutes before driving back to the Ranch. I successfully avoided all of my brothers the rest of the afternoon, making my way to the bar at about 9. Taylor was looking as gorgeous as usual in a black fitted tee, wearing them leggings that I would love to peel off her.
Soon as I walked in her eyes were on me, we shared a smile as I headed to the bar and took a seat.
"Beer?" I shook my head.
"Water."
"Really?" Taylor laughed.
"Yes ma'am. Recently my responsibilities have shifted quite a bit."
"You can still have a beer, you ain't no alcoholic."
"I know, I'll have a beer after this." I held up the water she set down and took a long sip. She smiled rolling her eyes and walked away to tend to the busy bar.
"She is fine as fuck." I turned my head to the guy next to me after setting the glass down. "I've tried shootin' my shot with her every night this week. She may be single but that woman got to be a firecracker or somethin'." I ran my tongue along my teeth in attempt to keep my cool. Talk about any other girl in the bar, don't talk about my Taylor.
"You ain't from around here are you." It wasn't a question. I knew he wasn't it bein' a small town an all.
"Nope, here for work. From Arizona." I nodded a few times before going back to watching Taylor. The guy kept making semi crude comments toward her, all but cat calling when she would bend over to get a beer out the cooler and all.
"Tay." I was finished my water, and she came over after grabbing a beer for me, refilled my water, and was about to walk away. "Wait."
"What?" She let out a laugh.
"You busy the rest of the week?" She gave me a slightly confused look.
"Uhm, I have off Friday and Saturday." I nodded.
"Wanna go on a date with me?" I watched her bit down on her bottom lip, and felt the guy next to me staring.
"I kind of have some responsibilities that come first, always."
"I know. We can have those responsibilities together. Friday night? My place? I'll make you dinner." She bit down on her lip again and it was driving me insane.
"How about mine, I'll cook. It'll be easier."
"Aight." I winked when she shook her head before walking away to continue working. The guy next to me slapped my arm.
