16. Power Moves

"Rindou!" I shouted rushing through the front door of the Haitani estate. "He's probably smoking out back or sleeping." Ran said when neither of us heard him respond. I walked to the back door and saw him sitting in an outdoor chair reading and smoking. I slid the door open and jumped in front of him full of energy. "Rin look!" I said yanking my skirt up and flashing my tattoo at him. His eyes went big at the sight of it. "Holy shit Kiyoko that's huge." He said leaning closer to the look at the details. "But it looks incredible. How was getting it? Hurts like a bitch doesn't it." He said leaning back. 

I dropped my skirt and sat on the chair across from him and next to Ran who burst out laughing. "Would you like to tell him, or can I?" Rindou looked at Ran confused. "You're the one who won't let it go so go right ahead." I said crossing my arms. "I stepped outside to make a few calls and get lunch and came back to her asleep in the chair. Not passed out just asleep. She also had no pants on. When I woke her up and asked how the fuck that happened. She said she was relaxed." Rindous mouth dropped as he stared at me. "Relaxed? You're joking right. I had my suspicions about you being crazy and this just adds to the case." I mocked his laughter. "She also tried to fuck Aki." Ran added. Rindou about choked on the cigarette smoke. "Seriously?! Why?!" I threw my hands up in defense. "Ran threatened not to pay for the tattoo and I don't have that kind of money so I did the only thing I could think of which is to sell my body." I shrugged and looked at Ran who was lighting his own cigarette and rolling his eyes. "I didn't think you'd take it that far."

Rindou was rubbing his temples. "Ran do you know how embarrassing that must have been for her. And after seeing her napping while being tattooed did you really think she wouldn't pull something like that to piss you off." Rindou pulled another cigarette from the pack and lit it. He must have noticed me staring, so he offered me one again. I looked at him, then to Ran, then back to Rindou. "I've never smoked before." I quietly admitted not wanting to seem lame in front of them. "That's fine, you don't have to take one. I just noticed you looking at them like you wanted one, so I figured I'd offer." 

I thought about it for another second and then leaned forward pulling one from the pack. "Here, put it between your lips." Rindou said standing up and leaning in front of me. I put the cigarette between my lips, and he lit if for me. "Now inhale, remove it from your mouth and then blow out the smoke. Simple as that." He sat back down as I followed his instructions. Both boys watched me as I let out my first puff. I choked slightly making everyone laugh. It wasn't the worst thing I had ever put in my mouth. I could get used to it. "You're just full of surprises." Ran said smiling at me. I raised my brows at him and continued to smoke the cigarette. 

Ran, Rindou and I all sat outside talking, laughing, and smoking for a few hours. The cold started to become too much for all of us, so we headed back inside. Checking the time on my phone I realized it was pretty late. The time read seven o' clock. "I should probably head home. I haven't exactly checked in with any of my friends and they will come looking for me." I said to the brothers. I went upstairs and gathered all my stuff. Ran let me store most of the clothes he bought me in his room. He also insisted on driving me home even though I told him I was okay with taking a cab or having Masaru drive me. 

The hour ride back to Shinjuku was pretty silent. We didn't talk much so Ran turned the radio on. I had him drop me off at the Sano house. I wanted Emma to be the first to see my tattoo and hear about my new year's adventures. Ran parked the car when I pointed out which house it was. Before I got out, he turned to me grabbing my jaw and pulled me in to kiss him. Neither of us wanted to pull away. "Call me whenever you want love. I can always make time for you." He let go of my jaw and pulled away. I smiled at him and got out walking to the front door. I turned around and watched Ran drive off before entering. 

Inside I went straight for Emma's room which was empty. I didn't see anyone in the common areas, so I went outside and knocked on Mikey's door. "Come in!" He shouted from behind the closed door. "Hey. Do you know when Emma is going to be home?" I asked him without entering the room. "No idea." He said not even looking up from whatever he was doing. He is absolutely no help. "Hey Kiyoko wait." Mikey said before I was able to close the door and walk away. "Yeah?" I said turning around leaning against the door frame. "Where have you been the last couple days? I was surprised you didn't show up to the fight on New Year's Eve. You're not one to stray away from a good fight." He questioned me. Fight on New Year's Eve. What the hell is he talking about. That can't possibly be the secret plans Draken was talking about. "Mikey what fight? Nobody mentioned anything to me because you clearly know I would have been there." I was trying not to get angry just yet, but I already wanted to punch the wall.
