The contemporary forest lay still around you. For once in its lifetime, it was almost completely silent. The roads were void of cars and there were few pedestrians too. Only your footsteps weaved in amongst the urban muteness. The wind was whistling, but was unable to penetrate your thick coat.

Autumn was finally at its very end and the season was slowly creeping towards winter. Fiery leaves were beginning to wither and decompose, the air was becoming even more chilling. What was more, the grey sky above dimmed your mood and compressed you down into this dark box.

Your hands were shoved in your pockets, all until you pulled one of them out. With it came your earbuds, an item you didn't often use. Once again, you didn't usually have the time nor the space, but now you had all the time in the world. Your essay was submitted and lectures were fewer. Autumn break was on the horizon and most of all: you no longer had him to hang around with.

The slow melodies played in your ears, blocking out the world in its entirety. You focused on where you were walking and what you were listening to more than what you were thinking. Things were better that way. The less intrusive thoughts, the easier it was just to push through your day.

You could feel his sharp teeth nicking your lips, satisfyingly so. Not only that but you found that your mind was scrambling with only the man on your mind.

His free hand rested on your waist as he pulled you forward. Your chest was pressed to his own, his heartbeat being lost in yours as the two rhythms danced.

Almost like a tango as it only takes two.

Like a tango...

The second you rounded the corner and started to head off down your road, the music switched.

I know, I know, I know,
This situation's strange.

You felt your breath catch in your throat and as quick as you could, you started fumbling for your phone.

It takes a little getting,
A little getting used to.

Suddenly, you cursed loudly as the device slipped right from your hands and went crashing against the pavement. The Bluetooth connection on your earbuds faltered for a second and then strangely disconnected as your phone bounced and fell down into the road.

Love me-love me-love me-love me,
Love me-love me-love me-love me,

Your heart started to beat faster as the familiar rhythm continued to play. Never in your life had you fallen to your knees so fast, reaching down to grab it.

Love me-love me-love me-love me more;
Than you possibly can.

At long last, you managed to take it. You felt this wash of relief as you went to pause the song-
