"You got it?" Peter asked as we were just talking about the project that we're going to pass on Monday.
"Yeah, it's totally fine. Spider-Man did it all, thanks to you." I smiled as I turned around to face him. He still walked me home as he promised to my mother. "It's ok now, I'm already standing in front of my home. I'm sure you're already tired by walking me back and forth from my house."
He laughed. "It's totally fine. I'm not leaving here until you step your foot inside of your house." He smiled.
"Smile with teeth please." I pleased as I held his hands against mine. He did as I said and smiled with his teeth. "This." I pointed at his smile. "This is why I fell in love with you. Just giving me your Sweet Smile could already make my day better."
"Enough for that. Let me see yours." I smiled as he cups my cheeks and kissed me. We began to melt with each other's lips, butterflies started to fill my stomach again. We didn't want to pull away from each other as if we were afraid of dying and our kiss is the only chance to get us alive, which it symbolizes as oxygen.
We both jumped at the sight of my mother who opened up the front door. I looked at Peter and we both laughed nervously while we pulled away from each other.
"Good evening, Mrs. Jones. I just walked your daughter home as I promised." Peter said and looked at my mom. I glanced at mom's reaction, she seems to be holding back her happiness --- at the same time her concern she's still my mother, it's normal.
"Uh-hum." My mom just hummed as a response.
Peter then began to walk downwards at the stairs from our porch. He grabbed my hand while he mouthed "I love you" to me. I mouthed "I love you too". Then we let go of each other's hand.
I turned to my mom. "We've got a lot to discuss, Ana."
--
I started to smile as I remembered yesterday's event. Every time I think of it, I would instantly blush or yell internally, or maybe both. I was doing the other assignments that I didn't finish when I heard knocking on my window.
I turned around and I saw Peter outside. I instantly smiled. I stood up and walked towards the window and opened it. "Come in." After that, I turned around again. "You should uh considered entering on the lobby instead of the window." I heard him chuckle, but not a normal chuckle. I turned around to take a good look at him and my smile instantly vanished. He jumped out of the window and entered my room stumbling. "Peter?" I walked up to him. "Oh my god, what happened?"
"You should see the other guy." I just ignored him and guided him towards the chair sofa inside of my bedroom. "The other guy." He let it out in a breathe. "In this instance being a giant mutant lizard." He continued as I examined how bad his wounds are.
"A giant mutant lizard?" I looked at him confused until my father's voice could be heard in the hallway.
"Hey, Ana? Sweetie. Do you want some uh milk chocolate?" My eyes widened suddenly widened. I shushed Peter and ran for the door, stopping my dad if he ever comes in and see Peter. I heard cushions move behind me. Peter must've hidden.
I swiftly opened the door. "No, dad. I do not want some milk chocolate. Honestly. I'm 17 years old."
"Ok, I just thought I remembered somebody saying last week that her fantasy was to live in a chocolate house."
"Well, that's impractical." I closed the door but immediately opened it again. "And fattening." I smiled while nodding my head. I looked back to where Peter was to see him peeking his head behind the chair sofa while smiling.
"Chocolate house." He said, it was crystal clear that his voice was exhausted from whatever happened to him.
I opened up the door seeing my dad was still standing there. "Sorry, dad."
"It's good."
"I-I can't um... I have coke right now because I'm working. I'm doing this um... I have the... I-I've got cramps."
"Oh."
"I feel like kind of... pukey." I nodded my head frantically convincing him that I'm not lying. "Let's just say it's brutal. You don't wanna know, trust me."
"Got it."
"Thanks, dad."
"Alright." I didn't even get him to finish and immediately closed the door. I rushed to my closet and searched for some clean cloth. After that, I looked around and saw alcohol sitting on my desk and grabbed it.
I sat down beside Peter and helped him undress his top to clean his wounds. The cuts were big and long, it's like a cat scratch but make it more huge. The cut started from his shoulder to his hips.
"This must've felt like hell." I commented and began pouring some alcohol on the cloth. I looked at Peter for permission first, I know the wounds felt like hell but with alcohol? It's going to hurt more. He nodded and clenched his fists. I started to gently tap the cloth to his wound. He groaned. I instantly stopped and looked at him. We looked at each other, looking at our faces. I smiled at him as he slowly leans in my direction. He was about to kiss me when I moved backward slightly. "Easy, bug boy."
"What did you call me?" He smiled back. He cups my cheek as he kissed my jaw.
"I know what this is." He stopped and looked at me, still cupping my right cheek. "Every day for as long as I remember, my dad has left every morning and he puts a badge on his chest and strapped a gun on his hips. And for as long as I remember I haven't known if he was going to make it home." My eyes began to water but I'm trying to hold it back. Peter noticed and now cups both of my cheeks with his hand.
"I gotta stop him though." I tried to look away from his gaze but he keeps moving my face for me to look at him. "I have to, cause I created him." I looked at him surprised and now he was the one looking away.
"What do you mean?" I held his hands and caressed them with my thumb.
"I gave him an equation," He eyed me and slightly smiled, but it soon vanished and returned to his worried expression. "That made all of this possible. Some of my father had been working on, you know? Secretly. Now I realized why he kept it as a secret." I know deep inside that he wants to just cry it all out hoping it would go away once he's finished, but he knows it wouldn't change the fact that there was this giant mutant lizard roaming around the city he was protecting. "Wait, is this my responsibility? I have to fix it." He started caressing the side of my face as I kissed his palm. I'm just worried for him, I'm concerned as his girlfriend. While he is fighting the bad guy, something bad might happen to him.
"I'm just scared." He held my chin up and made me look into his eyes.
"Let's get out of here." He said it again and again making me laugh. "Just for a minute? Can we?" I shooked my head for disagreement.
"No."
"Yeah."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"If my parents are going to see me leaving. I'm dead."
He smiled. "Your parents aren't going to see you leaving."
