Ch. 3 - Train this weak body

"Ume!! Ume where are you!!!" Gyuutaro yelled desperately, trying to find his sister who had gone missing since the morning when he woke up.

Searching through the crowd of people, he tried to find her beautiful silver-green hair through all the adults that's crowding him.

'Could she be kidnapped? What if someone sells her to a brothel?! No! My Sister can absolutely NOT go there! It's dangerous!! AAAA UME PLEASE WHERE ARE YOU!' Gyuutaro thought while shouting Daki's name. His head started feeling a bit dizzy from all the chaos that's happening.

"Onii-Chan?" Ume asked through the crowd. He immediately ran straight towards her and hugged her tightly as if protecting her from the disgusting world.

"Ume! You must be scared right? Did someone kidnap you? Let Onii-Chan help you vent your frustration and anxiety!" Gyuutaro said in anger, but also with relief since he finally found her.

She shook her head, "No Onii-Chan! I didn't get kidnapped, I'm making us money! Look!" She pushed back from the hug and held your her hands filled with Yen.

"W- where'd you get all that money?! Ume, don't tell me you sold your body?!" He said with his eyes widen but teared up a bit.

"Say what now?! Onii-Channnnnn! I made money from helping out" She said with a pout.

"WHAT?! DID THEY MAKE YOU CHOP DOWN WOOD?! MY BEAUTIFUL UME'S HAND WILL BE BRUISED!! ARE YOU TIRED? HURT??" Gyuutaro inspected her body, twirling her around.

"AAA! ONII-CHAN, STOP! I just helped with cleaning the house!" Daki said dizzily, and he finally stopped twirling her around.

"Ume, I found a job. Don't do anymore chores from now, I don't want you to work at all, I want you to have the best! So leave it all to Onii-Chan okay?" He said softly, patting her head.

"Onii-Chan what kind of job did you have?" She asked, narrowing her eyes at him.

He smiled and said, "There is someone who hired me to help at a farm, so onii-Chan will be late to come to you, alright?"

'Liar' Daki thought, frowning at his words. He must have started 'collecting' other people's debts.

"Onii-Chan.. please don't do anything bad okay? I don't want anything to happen to you or me, so let me help. Alright?" Ume sad sadly as she hugged her brother.

She don't want the fate the two siblings had, she wanted both of them to be happy.. she doesn't want her brother to become a man-eating demon.

Can she really change their own fate?

Second POV:

Can you do total concentration breathing? Maybe you can try and gather all the information from the manga you have read so far and save both you and your brother.

After Gyuutaro left for his 'work', you started to train your body. Rocks, sticks, animals, metal, anything that can help you. At first, you were extremely tired. Ume's body was fragile to the point where she can't even properly wield a sword.

It's devastating after you found out she had no talent in swords and katanas, however you didn't give up and decided to start from the bottom.

You started with 30 sit-ups. 20 push-ups. Running more than 15 miles a day, slowly building up your stamina.

You also began finding and eating the yellow jasmine, it was a poisonous plant that will make you vomit and sick but you also wanted immunity towards poison.

"᥇ꪶꫀꫝ..." you had underestimated the effect it had to your body. But still Continued to eat one everyday when Gyuutaro isn't there.

"Huff Huff. I think I can finally hold a log... it's so hard to build this girl's stamina." You huffed, gasping for air.

'It's fine, as long as I can learn breathing techniques. It's all for my brother and me' you thought, it was the only motivation for you to continue to work hard.

Even if you are training, you still helped other people and got the money from them after.

You can't laze around at all. You know you can't change your brother's mind but maybe change the way of his doing could be done.

So today, you waited for him to get home from his debt collecting and talk him out of it.

"Ume?"

"Onii-Chan..." you looked at the confused face of your brother.

"Let's talk."
