Nicolae: Is it love - The original story (Game walk through)

Chapter four part two

Seeing this woman in my dreams all the time has gotten me imagining everything and anything... That's why I'd like to see a picture, to get a better idea of what she looked like. Up to now, I've thought of her as... I think of her as a charming and beautiful woman. What's certain is that love was a priority in her life.

Peter > I can't tell you what she looked like, Lana, because nobody ever met or saw her... Except for Nicolae, that is...

Of course, Peter and Nicolae didn't know each other at the time. I start to imagine Peter's life. Is he older than Nicolae? It would explain his gentleness and calmness.

Peter > All I can tell you is that this story's been haunting him ever since he became a vampire... Ever since he died, he's been trying to find out who killed her, seeking revenge. Drogo and I help him as best we can.

> How do you help him?

Peter > I've already said too much if you want to know anything more, ask Nicolae.

Even if it's obviously up to Nicolae to tell me, I would have loved for Peter to say more. I've run out of time anyway, I have to go to college, but I really hope that someday soon, I'll manage to get to the bottom of all this. There are too many questions left unanswered.

> I have to go to college, but I'd love to carry this conversation on later.

Peter > If you want to, but I don't think I can give you the answers you're looking for... I'm off to college too, we can go together if you like.

Peter's never been a very talkative person but I want to make the most of the journey there, to question him a little more. From time to time, he glances over at me as if wondering what I was looking for exactly. What if I made the most of it to ask him about that girl Lorie told me about, Nicolae's apparent current girlfriend? If Peter doesn't know anything about Nicolae's former fiancée, he might know more about his current affair? Problem is, I don't really know how to broach the subject without making Peter suspicious of something. I turn to Peter, still wondering how to ask him and see him getting his earphones out of his pocket. I take this as a sign that he'd like to keep silent. Too bad! I don't want to rush Peter and I respect his need for silence. I have no choice; I resign myself to his silence.

As we get to college, Peter just nod's goodbye and walks away without a word... I didn't learn anything new. I hope I'll have better luck next time... I find Sarah. She, at least, is much more talkative than Peter. The contrast is huge! She tells me about her evening last night... A girls' night in as she puts it which practically lasted all night long. I'm a little jealous. My evenings at the manor aren't as fun packed. Although I guess they're not all that commonplace either. Not everyone is as lucky as I am to live with a house full of vampires and travel back in time every night!

Sarah > What about you? What did you do?

Oh, you know... The usual. I just travelled in time, into someone else's body, nothing special really. In other words, I rather not dwell on the subject. If there's a psychiatric hospital in the area, Sarah might take me straight there!

> Nothing very special, I looked after Lorie as usual, and weirdly, we talked about you.

Sarah looks tense all of a sudden and her face darkens.

Sarah > About me?

> Yes, well actually we talked about your family, or rather your ancestors...

Sarah freezes. What I just told her seems to really bother her. As if I'd touched a raw nerve...

Sarah > My ancestors? Why?
