> Who's there?

My voice trembles as I say these few words. No one answers. Maybe I didn't speak loud enough. I try again while trying to convince myself that all this is normal. Still no answer. I can feel the fear rising in me. Don't be scared, Lana, everything's ok. Again, I hear a noise, just behind the door, and nearly jump up.

> Who...who's there?

I see the handle move... I shudder. Who's behind this door? A member of the family? One of the ghosts in my dream? All these imaginary stories are getting to my head. Get a grip, Lana. You're not a kid anymore, werewolves only exist in children's book. The door opens slowly and I'm almost reassured when I recognize Drogo's silhouette coming towards me. I watch him with a certain apprehension. The look he gives me makes me feel uneasy. I'm not scared, it's only Drogo, Lorie's brother. Nothing to worry about. His eyes stare at me so intensely that I can't look away. It's like I'm hypnotized. He shouldn't be here. Even though I'm not exactly within my rights either. Drogo looks at haughtily. Too bad he's so scornful with me, otherwise I'd think he's a handsome man. His fine and muscular silhouette and his tousled hair are quite charming.

Drogo > So, little one, you're playing detective when everyone else is asleep? You know what they say right? "Curiosity killed the cat".

How cheeky. I could say the same for him. He comes into Nicolae's room and steps up to me. At this instant, he almost scares me.

> It's not what you think. I just came here because I heard a noise.

Drogo > Oh right! And so, the little one thought that she'd come and see for herself. Like I said, curious.

I don't like his smug and accusing tone and decide to take him down a peg or two right away.

> Believe me or not, I heard noises that kept me awake. I heard them from my room.

Drogo > In the meantime, you woke me up.

I raise my eyebrows. Now, he's exaggerating. I'm sure I was as quiet as a mouse.

> Actually, I don't think you were sleeping at all, I think you were spying on me.

I've barely finished my sentence that Drogo starts laughing hysterically. I fold my arms over my chest, vaguely annoyed. I don't really see what's so funny. The look he shoots me is so smug that i feel the need to say something.

> Hasn't anyone ever told you that it was rude to spy on people?

Drogo > Has no one ever told you that it was rude to enter people's rooms without being invited to?

Who does he think he is? I want to put him in his place, just to show him that I won't let myself be pushed around. I'm about to say something, but I can see in his eyes that I'd better not.

Drogo > I don't care what you say! I'm not deaf, I heard a little mouse snooping around.

He stares at me again, but his look is teasing. It makes me feel uncomfortable. What is he imagining?

> What are you insinuating, exactly?

Drogo > Insinuations? Oh no, little one. I'm just taking note.

> Get out of this room, Drogo, and leave me alone. I was heading back to mine anyway.

He doesn't seem to hear or care about what I might say. He comes closer, and I can feel my body getting tense. What does he want from me? He's now only inches from me. The light of the night strangely illuminates his face. His eyes seem lit by an inner fire. I don't have time to react. Drogo stands in front of me and, without a word, grabs the blanket that was resting on my shoulders a few minutes ago. Once again, I wonder who put it there? I'm sure it wasn't me. Was it Drogo? This possibility is highly unlikely. Drogo is so mean to me. I don't think there's a friendly bone in his body. He's nothing like the man I thought I saw. Who was kind and reassuring. And Drogo wasn't in the room when I opened my eyes after falling asleep. All these stories are starting to scare me. Ever since I got here, so many things seem strange to me.
