"You should be careful with nuts, you know."

"Really?" The girl was sipping her drink calmly, while eating some chestnuts from the jar beside her and observing the movement of the bar.

The bar was a dark place, somewhat hipster style, mixing the modern and the classic in an alternative and distinctive way. Pale knotty wood panels were present on the walls and bar, contrasting with the dark leather furniture and the black granite countertop. It was different from what she was used to, yet it was where her latest boyfriend had arranged to meet her. She was a little too dressed up for the place, but who knows, maybe he would be ashamed of himself and take her to a more upscale restaurant for dinner. Her stiletto heels were already starting to hurt her feet, even though she was sitting on a high wooden stool. This one was not comfortable either, without a high backrest on which she could relax her back. In fact, each stool was of a different design, and none of them seemed more comfortable than the other. Yes, she was not happy there. In fact, she was tired from be on her feet for so many hours at work and just wanted a quiet evening, it wasn't too much to ask.

The young man, in somewhat nerdy style, with large rimmed glasses and slightly hunched shoulders continued talking to her.

"They have a large amount of selenium and this substance, when consumed above the limit, can be toxic."

The girl laughed at the young man's comment. Was this his way of winning a girl over? He was kind of cute with his messy brunette hair and striped shirt.

"Who knew this little nut could be so deadly" she joked, taking one in her hand.

"Oh, it won't kill you, just give you a stomach ache." The young man explained blandly.

He was clearly embarrassed by such a beautiful woman. Her bright brown eyes and smile were impressive. He didn't even know how he had the nerve to start a conversation with her.

"I thought that was the effect of the alcohol." She smiled.

"It depends on the amount ingested as well."

"Touché" The girl replied and finished her drink in one go. She called the waiter and ordered another round. The young man kept trying.

"Can I buy you this round?"

She shrugged. Who doesn't want a free drink? While her boyfriend didn't show up, she could entertain herself with this funny nerd.

"So where did you learn such valuable information as the chestnuts?"

"I'm taking a course about pharmacy. I'm still in the middle of it, but I've already learned some pretty cool stuff. Chemistry is amazing."

"Like making bombs?"

"Not exactly," he laughed, "more useful things like not mixing drugs."

"So you don't want to blow anyone up?" The girl asked innocently.

"No."

"Not even an ex-girlfriend?" she insisted.

"I never had one."

"Gosh, we have to change that soon."

The young man's eyes sparkled at the thought that she was giving him a direct invitation. He still had a lot to learn about the art of seduction.

"And did you learn to make drugs too?" the young woman asked.

"It's not impossible, but I'd like to work on the right side of the law. You'd be amazed at what can be easily bought in drugstores and be dangerous to the human body."

"I will never look at a drugstore the same way again. Now I will think about drugs, bombs and deadly substances."

The two laughed together and sipped their drinks. The difference between the seducer and the seduced was not explicit to those who observed them from some distance. The only obvious fact was that the level of the drinks in their glasses was dropping rapidly, round after round.

"So, dear " the girl put her hand on his, which was on the table "is it possible to buy selenium in drugstores too, or is it only found in nuts?"

"No, it is in capsules. Some doctors recommend it for patients with vitamin deficiencies. But I am not a doctor."

"Selenium doesn't need a prescription if it's just a vitamin." The girl's voice was unclear whether it was a question or a statement, but he answered anyway.

"No."

"Then you don't need to be a doctor. When you have an ex-girlfriend you don't like, you can fill her up with selenium." The girl suggested, smiling.

"She would stay in the bathroom for a few hours."

"You see, everyone can have a revengeful side." She winked at him.

"I'm not like that, I'm more restrained." He smiled awkwardly.

But she was. After a few hours of chatting, she realized that her soon-to-be ex-boyfriend wasn't going to show up. At least, she couldn't complain that much. The evening had been fun, and she had learned a lot from the pharmacy student. She had even given him her number. Maybe her luck was about to change. She already had a plan to execute.
