Cheryl never thought she would make it to seventeen.

But she did, and it's midnight.
And Toni's asleep.
And she's lost in her thoughts.
She wishes JJ would be able to celebrate with her.

Truthfully, Cheryl didn't want to celebrate her birthday. All of the memories she had of it were terrible. She had Toni now though, maybe it would be less lonely.

All these years of crying in her birthday. Of her parents leaving her right as she turned 11. Just shallow, miserable years.

In past years, Cheryl would do a slash on her wrist for every year she had made it through. That was over now, she was past that.

The redhead had Toni, what more was there to ask for?

Hours of not sleeping finally got to her, and she decided to maybe go downstairs for a few minutes.

But as Cheryl tried to get out of bed, an arm stopped her.

"Cher, get some sleep, love." Toni whispered in the dark. Cheryl sighed, getting back in bed and attempting to go to sleep.

Several hours later, the readhead woke up, to find her pink haired girlfriend was no longer in bed.

Cheryl was confused, so she decided to see if Toni was downstairs after getting ready for the day.

As she entered the living room, she was met with a heart melting sight.

Toni was standing in the middle of the room, looking beautiful as ever.

And all around her, was balloons in multiple shades of red.

Red streamers hang from the ceiling.

Cheryl thought she was dreaming, the whole room was badazzled in red decorations.

" Happy birthday my love, i know you don't really celebrate your birthday. But you are now, because I love you and you deserve it."

Cheryl smiled as big as ever, "I love you Toni, thank you."

Toni smiled, "now let's celebrate your big day, beautiful."

So they did, they celebrated, and laughed, and smiled.

And Toni got her a ring with a diamond rose on it.

"where's your mom and sister?" Cheryl questioned, as she didn't see them near.

"Oh they went to get something, don't worry about it." Toni answered.

When it got near to 9pm, Toni's mom and sister came in the house, two white boxes in hand.

Cheryl furrowed her eyebrow, but Toni told her she'd find out.

After many minutes of Toni and Cheryl dancing to random songs, Cheryl was led to the dining room table.

There were two cakes sitting in front of her, decorated with blossom trees and they both had 17 candles on them.

"Toni, why are there two takes?" Cheryl questioned.

"For Jason, i know you wish he could be here. And he is, he's sitting right there, and he's so proud of you and how far you've gotten Cheryl."

Tears began to stream down the redheads face. "I love you so much."

Toni pecked her lips, "I love you too, happy birthday my love."

That was probably the best birthday Cheryl had ever had.

Not probably, it was.
