|If you don’t terrify people a little bit, then,What’s the point|
She looked outside deep in her thought. Leaning against the headrest of the black leather seats, the wind slapped her face and thinking about what Ayesha had told her.
Liam stole occasional glances at her. He knew Annalise wasn't a quiet one, she often blast loud Korean pop in the car, despite him not liking it or she'd watch some sort of k-drama with her earphones plugged in. It was highly unlikely she was doing neither. In fact, she looked bothered by something.
He knew seeing Ayesha walk by his car wasn't something to be ignored but he couldn't help it when Lise told him it was nothing. He had been her friend for long enough to know that it wasn't just noting. Ayesha was on Lise's tail since middle school and he himself had shut the vile girl up many times.
Not that Lise wouldn't have done it herself, but Ayesha and her friends never gave her the chance to. With their consent mockery to bring down her self-esteem, he wasn't surprised if they cornered her up or threatened his best friend in broad daylight.
"Annie-bear, are you okay?" He asked glancing to his side, before focusing his gaze on the road ahead.
"Annie?" He called out again when she didn't reply.
"Not a problem," She said with a smile that Liam could make out, which wasn't genuine. He knew for sure something was definitely bothering her.
Before he opened his mouth and could ask her what was bothering her so much, Lise beat him to it.
"Why aren't you dating?" She blurted out before she could even think. She closed her eyes and muttered idiot under her breath for asking this stupid question.
"Annie-bear, what sort of a question is that? I have told you before that I don't want to be in a relationship just yet." He chuckled nervously as he stole another quick glance.
"Hmm,"
She even felt stupid for asking that. How could she just give in to what Ayesha said? Was she that selfish that she was literally going to sabotage her friendship to get a pervert off her back?
Shaking her head in disbelief she dismissed the idea of ever having spoken to Ayesha about this. She looked at Liam, he deserved so much better. He shouldn't be behind her dropping her or something. He should be able to do things that he cannot do with her as his friend.
"No. Annie-bear, don't go there. I know what you are thinking." Liam warned her, throwing her a glare.
"What?!" Her eyes widened at how easily he was able to read her.
"I know you are feeling guilty, that look in your eyes says it all."
"No I don't," she scoffed and rolled her eyes. Her cheeks were slightly red due to anger. She crossed her arms against her chest and huffed out loudly, making a wide grin spread across Liam's face.
As soon as Liam pulled up in front of the bank and parked the car, Annalise groaned in annoyance.
"What?" Liam asked, turning to her, giving her his full attention.
"Stairs! Every cripple's biggest nightmare." She rolled her eyes at people's unnecessary use of stairs. She always found it stupid that people added stairs where it wasn't even necessary.
"Oye, Annie-bear, why do you think I am here, huh?" He said as he got out and pulled her wheelchair out.
"I don't just work out so much for nothing, babe." He said and winked at her and ran his hand all over her soft honey brown locks, dishevelling it.
