Lise took the muffin in her hands after giving it a lot of thought. For some reason, she just didn't trust taking food from anyone, especially after what went down.

Despite knowing Elijah may not do something like his brother, she still couldn't be sure.

"Are you okay?" Elijah asked her and Lise didn't respond. She just stared at the muffin in her hand. She had been losing hope in humanity.

"Annalise? Are okay?" He shook her by her shoulder and that is when Lise snapped out of her thoughts. She raised her eyes to meet his and blinked for quite a while before actually shaking her head.

"Are you not hungry?" He asked again, and Lise just looked at him. Her inner turmoil was growing.

She didn't respond but moved the soft and fluffy muffin closer to her lips and took a bite of it. The delicacy melted on her tongue. The sweet taste hit her brain and she couldn't help but moan at it.

He was right. This was the tastiest muffin she had ever had.

"This is so good." She smiles looking at Elijah.

"I know," he said and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Show me your hand," he said with a smile and pulled out a box from the bag.

"What?" She mumbled with the muffin in her mouth. She looked at him as he opened the box and told out a beautifully simple yet gorgeous bracelet.

Her eyes widened when she noticed it hanging from his fingers. It was delicate and had this absolutely magnificent charm to it.

He took her free hand and carefully secured it over her wrist. Lise's eyes widen when he wrapped the thing around her wrist.

"What are you doing?" She asked in surprise.

"I saw this in the store and I knew you were supposed to have it."

She looked at her wrist for a few seconds before shaking her head. "No, I can't accept this." She spoke politely and placed the muffin back in its box and was about to remove it when Elijah held her hand.

"It is yours." He said and stopped her. She looked at him. Her green doe-like eyes sparkled and she looked at him with a sort of longing.

"Thank you," she whispered accepting it. Of all the negative things that were happening around her, she wanted something that emitted a positive vibe. And this may just be it, considering who it was presented by.

She flashed him a genuine smile and took a muffin while Elijah also took one to accompany her. She took another bite and loosened up a bit, she went rigid the next second the muffin dropped from her hand and rolled down the floor.

"What the fuck is going on?"

Elijah and Lise both snapped their heads towards the door, fearing who it was. His roar sent a shiver down little Lise's spine. She gulped in fear looking at Andreas standing by the door.

He looked lethal. His eyes burned with the inextinguishable fire of jealousy.

He couldn't stand the fact that Lise was smiling at his brother. When she couldn't even maintain eye contact with him. He hated the feeling of being rejected by this girl. She didn't mean anything but her rejection burned him. He wanted her but she didn't even like him around her.

He may have loved his brother but seeing him with Lise made him wanna punch him in the face. Maybe he was being paranoid about how he was behaving with this girl but he just couldn't help it. It was as if she was just meant for him. She was his claim right from when he saw her in that shitty place.
