Annalise tried her best not to cry. She gulped, gulped and gulped. But those traitorous tears betrayed her. Despite her best efforts, they rolled from her eyes, down the bridge of her nose, down her cheek, and finally hitting the pillow, dampening it.

She didn't like it here. She didn't like Andreas. He was a cruel man. She was unable to look past his horrendous deeds. That kept on playing in her mind again and again like a broken record.

She was still in her school uniform. Her white shirt was all crumpled and her shoes still intact. She was feeling rather cold. She so wanted to move and pull the comforter but she didn't dare move. Andreas just seemed the person who would probably yell at messing the simplest things up, considering he has kidnapped her for calling 911.

Her sobs got muffled by the pillow. Holding onto one of the pillows for her dear life, she balked her eyes out. She just wished to be home where she could be in her mother's embrace and didn't have to fear for her life.

The door creaked open and in peeked a middle-aged woman. She noticed the sobbing Lise and something churned in her stomach. Nevertheless, pushing her uneasiness aside, she walked in pushing a mini trolly.

Lise tightened her on the pillow when she felt the door open and closed her eyes shut. She didn't want to show her vulnerability to Andreas. Not that she hasn't cried before him, it was just, now she was in a messier state and desperately crying to be with her mother.

"Miss," the older woman called out as she stepped up before Lise and looked down at the crying girl.

Annalise, on hearing the feminine and soft voice, gulped continuously and slowly peeked from the pillow which she had covered her face.

The old woman noticed her green eyes, which resembled emeralds. Her eyebrows were thin and framed her eyes well.

"I brought you some food and a change of clothes." The older woman spoke, offering her a generous smile.

"T-Thank..s." Annalise stutters badly and her eyes move up and down the length of the woman's body, checking if she didn't have any weapons on her. She felt afraid and small. Despite the woman's kind nature, Lise couldn't help but feel skeptical about it.

"Can you please tell me your name?" The woman asked and Lise gulped and just stared at her.

On noticing Lise's stare, the fearful one, she quickly took a step to her bed to assure her. "I will not hurt you."

Noting the frantic voice of the woman, Lise gulped yet again and looked at her for a few more seconds before she sat up on the bed and slowly moved the pillow. She knew she was probably risking her life but the way the woman assured her, said that she didn't want Lise to be afraid of her.

"Annalise."

Lise whispered in a small voice. The girl's merely audible voice caught onto the woman and she smiled at Lise.

"That's a wonderful name." She said and muttered 'Annalise' under her breath. An involuntary smile curled up the woman's lips as she loved the way Annalise sounded.

The perfect name for a perfectly young and beautiful girl like her.

The woman took a second to admire how beautiful Lise was. She looked just like an innocent angel. Her mind immediately diverted to the fact that Andreas had brought her unconscious. She couldn't help but wonder what would a girl like him would cause him any harm.

"I am Sheila. I work here. I guess you must be hungry?" Shelia asked as she stepped back and lifted the tray of food from the trolley and placed it beside Lise's bed.

"You can eat this and change into these clothes. You can shower if you want and if you need anything, please let me know, I'll be down." She passes Lise a sympathetic smile.
