There is the this guilt that creatives and upcoming artists have. Especially the ones at the genesis of their aspiring careers within any niche or platform.
What makes this guilt peculiar is the time and season it comes; It only surfaces during moments of rest.
Subtle as a whisper, yet loud like an alarm clock, the voice comes;"How dare you rest?! You are not doing enough!, Now is not the time to hit the breaks, hit the gas and only gas"!
And like the passionate-driven cowards of failure, we give in.
We trade a great amount of mental health, for a slightest possibility of progress; hoping it validates our pledge to 'productivity' and an innate desire for greatness.Dear creator, dear artist, You are allowed to speak back when that unsolicited guilt creeps in.
In this journey to your definition of artistic success, you are behind the steering wheel.
Not any individual, not any platform and definitely not those voices in your head.—Israel Olorunnisola
Quick Question
1. What do you think about the high pressure to succeed at the cost of mental health.
2. Is it fair as writers, artists we should prioritize our mental health above our creations.
