8| The beauty and horror of being a writer

A writer is like a pilot flying passengers to a destination,
But jumps out of the plane with a parachute
Hoping the rest of the cargo survive.

A writer is like a doctor who prescibes an incomplete dose,
Expecting the patient returns for more.

A writer is like a teacher who put a question on the class board,
Without knowing the answer

Being a writer is like running a clubhouse home to diverse characters,
Real and fictional,
The coporate and the clowns,
The meek and the proud.

On the wine of our impulses,
They drink to whatever mood we set
To the emotional rhythms,
They dance to whatever tune we play
All happening inside our heads.

At the will of our bleeding pen,
We make and ruin sire-lines
We establish and anhilate kingdoms
We fortify and demolish castles
In every plot,
We are the true villains
For every character,
We are their invisible gods,
Pup-petering their fates,
For self-pleasure or a higher cause.
