I didn't exactly want to go home at the time so it was me wandering around until I went to the mall. Sure, I had friends I could hang out with-. No. Most of them were having their own time on a Sunday like this. If I were to go home it wouldn't be any better. That's what made me end up window shopping. It had been at least two hours since I had started and that's around the time somebody bumped into my back. I sighed turning around to the usual sight of strawberries. Oh no. "Oh my goodness! I am so sorry- are you okay?" She said frantically even though I hadn't been pushed over or bumped into anything. "Oh, yes I'm fine are you okay?" I responded. It honestly scared me how calmly I acted. Pate continued to ask if I was okay which was kind of cute-. I looked over her shoulder and noticed merch from my favorite show. "Oh, no way..-" I accidentally said out loud. She slightly turned her head in the direction I was looking and gasped. "They have these? I never thought a small town like ours could hold such beauties!" She grabbed one and held it up to herself checking if the size was correct. I had grabbed myself a pair as well and looked at her, "Wait you like them too?" I asked. Pate nodded.
By the time I got home I had realized that one, I had gotten my crush's number. Two, she liked the same things I did, and three; I had gotten her number. Did I really get her number? I checked my phone and there it was. Clear as day. I sent a text to see if it was actually her and she had responded which means she did give me HER number and not some random person.
It had been hours since I started texting her and it was like a dream come true. It was around 11 pm when I had the realization I forgot to finish my homework though. Curse you homework. This caused me to have to go on a 'hiatus' for texting and proceeded in a long two hours of typing before passing out.
The night for me didn't last long as every school night was the same. Go to sleep and wake up feeling like you didn't at all. When I went to school though Pate wasn't there. She seemed fine when I was talking to her yesterday but I was still concerned so I texted her.
Sammy:
Hey, Lexi are you okay? You aren't at school so I thought I'd send a message.
I almost instantly regretted texting her when I saw the chat bubbles pop up indicating she was responding.
Lexi:
Oh! I didn't feel too well this morning so I decided to stay home, I'll talk to you later though.
See? It was fine she was just sick at school. A twisting in my stomach occurred though. She looked fine yesterday and while we were talking? I'm just overthinking. Just... Overthinking.
