I stayed in the bathroom for a good seven minutes before going back out to join my friends. I heard the patter of rain tapping the windows as the sky started sprinkling. I sat back down a bit farther away from Mason but it seemed he didn't notice. The food had arrived and I moved my focus to eat instead of Mason. He was such an idiot. I was... Such an idiot. An idiot for thinking that Lexi would actually like me and that she was- real.
The rain started getting louder. I had walked from my house to here so if I were to walk back it was obvious I was going to be soaked. I wasn't really in the mood to get a cold. Waiting here was my only option until the rain died down.
"How's your food darling?" Lexi's 'Angelic' voice pierced my ears.
"It's pretty good what about you?"
"Why don't you taste it for yourself?" She dipped her fork into her plate. The food had arrived while I was in the restroom and they had apparently ordered for me. Not a great idea on their part.
I held back the urge to roll my eyes and ate the food off of the fork she was holding in front of me.
"It tastes awesome!" I smiled at her.
She blushed and looked back at her food. Blushed. She was good at acting I'm not going to lie.
Soon after Calico had finished his meal and so had Vex leaving just me and Lexi.
"Hey, Sammy me and Vex are gonna head out." Calico grinned at Vex.
"Alright. Remember you are paying next time." I mentally freaked out. I did not want to be left alone with this- person.
Calico and Vex stood up and started walking away. My mouth was sealed and the second they left my sight Lexi's whole attitude changed.
"We can split the check, Sammy." He said in a slightly lower voice still trying to convey the sweetness of Lexi.
"What- no I already said-" She cut me off before I could continue.
"I'm the one who made you come out here so just let me at least take their bill." His lips pulled upwards giving me a floating feeling.
"Thank- you."
"No problem, and I think I can trust you enough now. I'm fake breaking up with you."
Why did my heart drop when he said this.
Why did I feel... Sad?
"Oh- alright then. Thanks again" I paid for the meal and watched as Mason got in his car while I sat down under the awning. I shouldn't feel so... so upset. I didn't like him. I liked her.
