Kim Namjoon

'Namjoon, we're no babysitters. I don't want to take her.' Yoongi stared at me, his arms crossed. When he returned to the house to pick us up, he found us chatting on the couch. Jimin and Taehyung had been telling the girl - whose name we found out was Youra - the stories of some of our most impressive battles, fully animated with gestures. Youra had seemed eager to learn everything she could about anything they told her, and the younger guys had gladly answered all the questions she'd asked them.
'We can't just leave her here, all by herself, either.' Jimin protested.
'Maybe she can help us out!' Taehyung's face lit up, his signature boxy smile appearing on his face as he probably imagined her joining our hunts.
'Are you insane? She has no experience at all! I'm not going to risk my life trying to save some girl from a wendigo!'
'She could stay in the van with Jin and Hobi and help them monitor the cameras and the activity levels.!' Jimin hissed. 'It's not like either of them have ever faced a wendigo.'
'At least they know what wendigos are.'

I sighed. Of course, Yoongi had a point. This girl had absolutely no experience whatsoever, and we had no clue who she was. Then again, leaving her here, alone in this big house, didn't feel right either. There was something fishy about tonight's situation. Why hadn't her parents been in the lair? Where were they? Why did they get rid of the parents, only to leave the young girl alive and well, believing nothing was wrong?

'You didn't know what wendigos were before we encountered one either.'
'Okay, stop. Quiet.' I raised my hands. 'If you talk any louder, she'll hear you, and so will the entire neighbourhood.' Six pairs of eyes looked at me, waiting for whatever it was I had to say now. No matter how much they bickered, they always knew that eventually, it was up to me to decide what would happen.

'Jin, Hobi, you guys have been quiet. What are your thoughts?' The two men, who had been standing to the side, looked at each other.
'Well... She wouldn't be in the way much if she just stayed with us... She seemed quite willing to learn...' Jin started carefully, avoiding Yoongi's glare of death.
'And she didn't seem horrified by all the stories those two told her either...' Hobi continued, signalling to Jimin and Taehyung. '...and she could train with Jungkook.' I looked at the youngest, whose eyes suddenly widened from having all the attention on him all of a sudden.

'Oh? Training with Jungkook? We all know that the guy gets nervous from just talking to girls. Now we're going to have him teach a girl how to use a weapon?' Yoongi sarcastically laughed. 'That's a recipe for success, right there. No offence, by the way.' He pat Jungkook on his back. Yoongi might have a temper - he would always make sure to not be too hard on our maknae.

'Jungkook, what do you think?'

He looked at each of us before scraping his throat, looking at me with a look of sudden determination.

'All I know is that she didn't run and scream when she found out we killed her "parents". I think we should take her.'
'Would you be able to train with her?' He nodded.
'I will try my best.'
'And I will help him.' Jimin said, smiling. 'If he gets too shy to talk, I'll just take over.'
'I can help too.' Taehyung pointed at himself. I nodded and looked at Yoongi, who had been listening to the others, visibly frustrated.
'Yoongi?'
'Don't come to me when she gets hurt out there.' He scoffed, before walking to the van, climbing in through the side door. I waited until he shut the door, before looking at the house behind me.
'Taehyung, Jimin, you both help her pack a bag. Make sure she doesn't forget anything important. Jin, Hobi, pack the gear. Jungkook, you're driving. I will look at the navigational system and get the address of our motel up. We leave in ten minutes.'

I walked up to the car, closely followed by Jungkook, while the others made their way back into the house. I sat down on the passenger's seat, and looked behind me at Yoongi. He was sitting on the front double seat, looking out the window.

'I know you're worried for her.'
'It's a mistake.'
'We can't leave her here. Not alone.'
'It's too dangerous for her. She's not used to the things we do, she doesn't know how to handle situations like we do.'
'I know. We'll train her.'
'I hope you'll get the chance to train her.' With that, he put on his headphones, blocking me out. I turned to the navigational system.

I knew exactly what he was thinking about, and I knew exactly what must be going through his mind now. I was the only one who did. I'd been there when it happened; I'd seen him go through that. I knew how he felt, and I knew how hard it had been for him. Still, I couldn't leave her here.

I just hoped he would forgive me for this at some point.

Jungkook sat down behind the wheel, adjusting the chair so he'd be comfortable. I cleared my mind and focussed on the GPS, which eventually showed it'd be an hour long drive before we'd reach our destination.

The silence was eventually broken by Hoseok and Jin, who opened the backdoors to put the bags with our equipment behind the last seats. Afterwards, they both sat down as well: Hoseok next to Yoongi who, by now, was slowly falling asleep in his chair, and Jin on the second single chair on the left side, leaving the first one for Jimin, who had a habit of getting carsick when we went on longer rides.

Jungkook fastened his seatbelt and tapped the steering wheel. He wasn't the most patient guy, getting bored of waiting quite quickly.

'Are you going to be okay to drive, Jungkook?' Jin asked. As the eldest of the group, he always looked out for all of us, making sure everyone was okay and taking over when he noticed us younger guys struggling.
'Yeah, I'll be okay!' Jungkook looked outside. 'Why do they take so long?'
'She's a girl, Jungkook. They probably need some time to collect all of her stuff.'
'Do girls really need so much stuff?' He said softly, still tapping the steering wheel. Jin just laughed, not answering.

I looked at the calm body of Yoongi through the rearview mirror, the thoughts of his screams and cries all coming back to me.
I'm so sorry, Yoongi. I'm so- so sorry.
