Min Yoongi

'Set foot in that room and I'll destroy everything you own!' Filled with rage I looked at the guy who was supposed to be my friend, knowing fully well that he had no clue why I was getting so angry. Still, I couldn't help myself. It wasn't her room. I wasn't going to allow it. It would've belonged to someone else.
'Where on earth is she going to have to sleep, then? It's the only free room in this building!'
'I don't give a damn where she sleeps, just not in here!'
'So, then what? Build her a bed in my own room? She can't sleep next to Jin forever, you know.' Jimin tried walking past me, clearly annoyed, but I just pulled him back, blocking the door afterwards. I liked the guy, quite a lot, but he had to go through me if he wanted this room.
'Don't even try.' I spat at him.
'Why do you even need that room? There's hardly anything in it...' Taehyung interfered.
'Shut up, Taehyung.'
'Hey, I'm just trying to understand you!' The younger guy yelled back, hurt. Normally, I'd care, but right now, I just wanted - no, needed - both of them to leave. They didn't understand. They wouldn't understand. They would never, ever, understand.

'What's going on here?!' Namjoon screamed, running towards us. At this moment, he was the last one I wanted to see, yet the only one who would get me right now.
'Yoongi hyung is being a total ass, that's what's going on.' Jimin screamed back, looking at me as if he could start hitting me any second now. 'I knew he wasn't a social butterfly, but he could at least give the girl a place to sleep.'
'She can sleep anywhere but here.'
'And what are you going to do about it? Hmm?' Jimin stepped closer, clearly trying to see how far I'd go. He'd better watch out.
'Don't even go there, Park. You'll lose.'
'Namjoonie hyung do something before they start hitting each other!' Taehyung shouted. Could he just go away? He had nothing to do with this. This was between Jimin and I, and I wasn't going to give it up just because Namjoon'd say so.

'Okay, guys, back off.'
'She's not getting this room.'
'Let's go talk. Come on, just us.'
'Not before he leaves.' Namjoon turned to Jimin, holding out his hands.
'Jimin, give me the blankets.'
'But you told me-'
'The blankets, Jimin.'
'She needs a pla-'
'I'll take care of it. Give me the blankets, Jimin.' Letting out a frustrated noise, he handed over the blanket and pillow he'd been holding. Before he walked off, he turned to me for the final time.
'Don't worry about wanting to come back as a rock in your next life. You're already acting like one, you emotionless piece of-'
'Taehyung, take him to the kitchen. Now.'

After they'd disappeared, I instantly felt my eyes get watery. I tried my best not to let Namjoon see, but I knew he knew. He was the only one that knew.

'Yoongi...'
'She's not getting the room. It's not hers.'
'She has to sleep somewhere, Yoongi...' Namjoon said calmly. I just shook my head.
'Not here. She can't sleep here.'
'I know you don't want to... I know...'
'Namjoon, this was supposed to be her room.' And at that moment, I couldn't stop it anymore. As soon as I'd spoken those words, the tears started flowing down my face, making me sob uncontrollably.

Min Yoongi, 2010

I loved looking at her. I loved looking at her so fucking much.
Sure, she could be a total pain in the ass sometimes - especially during physical training - but as annoying as that was to me, I loved her for it more. More than she'd probably ever realise.
I knew she was special the moment I'd met her. No experience, yet so determined to survive the horrors she never thought she'd have to face. She hadn't been scared, not for a second. I admired that about her, both then and now.
And here she was, sitting next to me, sleeping peacefully, while I was driving us to a new mission. Namjoon had decided to read a book in the back, letting us have our moment together, but it hadn't been long until her eyelids had won the battle from her will to stay awake.

'Is she out?'
'Sleeping like a rose.'
'That's adorable.' He was right. She would probably slap me if she'd ever hear me say it out loud, but she truly was. To me, this human was the cutest thing on the entire world, whether she liked it or not.
'So, walk me through this again.'
'Four campers - non-related to each other - went missing around the same time, only days apart, in a forest near Gwangju. None of them have been found yet. About twenty years back, the same thing happened, same region, a total of ten people disappearing. Same thing twenty years before that.'
'What on earth could that be?'
'Screams wendigo to me.'
'Wendigo? Those ugly cannibal-suckers? I hate those.' In my rearview mirror, I saw Namjoon nod.
'Yeah, me too. Pain in the ass to kill, too.'

I parked the car as far in as I possibly could, eventually not escaping having to stop. Our van was too big to reach the clearing we were on our way too. As soon as the van was safely parked, I put my hand on the female's cheek, slowly caressing it, knowing it'd eventually wake her up.

'Hey, sleepyhead, we're here.' She rubbed her eyes, grunting at me. I couldn't help but smile. Cute.

'Get up, Areum. No sleeping on the job.' Namjoon said, getting out of the van without spending a single second waiting. He had no mercy, and she knew it. There was a time and place for everything, and she knew very well that right now, she had to be awake.

I quickly pressed a kiss on her cheek, opening my door afterwards.

'Let's just stay here, together. Namjoon is smart. He can do this one alone.'
'As much as I'd love to, I don't want him to get eaten by a wendigo.'
'Wait, did you say wendigo? For real?' I nodded, the excitement in her voice amusing me every single time.
'Never mind then! I've never seen one of these in real life!' She jumped out, wide awake, leaving me sitting in the van alone, laughing.

We made our way into the forest, looking for the campsite where the stuff campers who disappeared last were. Fortunately, it didn't take long, and before we knew it, Namjoon was drawing Anasazi protection symbols in the sand with the help of a stick, while Areum watched him closely, like the curious human she was. In the meantime, I checked our flare guns, knowing these suckers could only be killed by torching them.

It was then that we heard the voices.

'THERE'S PEOPLE THERE. WE NEED TO SAVE THEM.' Areum yelled, trying to run to where the noise was coming from. Namjoon quickly grabbed her.
'Wendigos can mimic people's voices. Stay here.'
'I don't want to stay here.'
'Yeah, Namjoon, I think she'd better come with us... I don't want to leave her here...'
'She is safe as long as she stays inside this circle. It's too dangerous for her. She has little to none experience.'
'But Namjoon oppa...'
'You stay here, got it? Don't leave the circle. Come, Yoongi.' I turned to the girl, who looked back at me, hoping I'd tell her to just come along. I didn't do that. Namjoon was doing this longer than I had been doing this. If he said she'd better stay put, she should stay.

'Promise me you won't leave the circle.'
'But-'
'Promise me.' She just nodded, and I just followed Namjoon.

How I wished I'd given her a kiss.

We were gone for about five minutes, when her scream suddenly, out of nowhere, reached our ears, making me - and with me Namjoon - turn around immediately, running back to the campsite.

She was gone.

Min Yoongi, present

'I know you loved her. I do. I'm sorry. I really am. We'll take her stuff out, okay? We'll keep it safe.' Without responding, I just walked off to my room, locking the door behind me.

I needed to be alone now.
