Aurora sat crisscross on her bed, tapping her pencil on the piece of paper in front of her. She wasn't necessarily an artist, but Anne always taught her tips if she ever wanted to start. She had told her that she had the hands of natural born artist, which had made Aurora blush, but she didn't truly believe it. Anne was sweet, but that didn't mean she was always honest.
Soon, small footsteps came from the hallway and towards her room. Aurora had a guess as to who it was, but the footsteps were quick, so she wasn't sure.
But, her door soon swung open, revealing Ian who was breathing heavy raspy breaths."Aurora! Can we please go to Annes?" Ian begged, giving her puppy dog eyes to which she couldn't resist.
Aurora sighed, standing from her bed and taking Ian's hand as she found her mother and father in the dining room.
Reluctantly, both adults agreed to let them go, but made sure to bundle Ian up in as much clothes as possible, which he wasn't happy about, but he was happy to be going.
Aurora led Ian to green gables, where he was basically bouncing with excitement. When they were close enough, Aurora noticed Anne sitting with Diana and her sister, Minnie May, and suddenly, Aurora knew why Ian had wanted to come so bad.
Ian eventually got out of Auroras grip, running towards the three on the porch. Aurora smiled to herself, realizing how normal Ian had seemed. It was like he had never been sick at all. And Minnie May was more than happy to see Ian for the first time in months, she rushed up to the boy, squealing with joy.
Aurora soon reached the girls, Minnie May and Ian had sat back down on the porch, talking and talking on and on.
Diana immediately stood and hugged Aurora while gushing about how happy she was to see her, while Anne did the same.
"How are you doing?" Diana softly smiled at the girl.
"I'm good." Aurora assured. "Ian's doing good, and that's all that matters."
The girls looked towards the porch where Minnie May and Ian were squished in a chair next to each other, the small girl with her head placed on the boys shoulder as she talked loudly and threw her hands around for show.
The girls admired the sight, without realization that Jerry had been standing behind them, a soft look on his face as he sighed, startling all three of the girls, causing them to jump and turning around.
"Christ Jerry!" Aurora put a hand on his shoulder as he flushed a dark red color in embarrassment.
Jerry let out a nervous laugh.
"Eh, sorry."
The girls all burst into laughter, causing Jerry to awkwardly smile in front of them.
Aurora quickly pulled Jerry into a hug as she stopped laughing, a smile still plastered on her lips. It had been awhile since she last saw the boy, but the memory of them dancing in the Cuthberts barn stuck to the back of her mind.
"It's good to see you Jerry." Aurora sighed as she pulled away, seeing the grin on Jerry's face.
"You too, Aurora." Jerry nodded, that same smile stuck on his face.
