"Anne! Anne wait!" Aurora called to the red haired girl who was currently getting what seemed to be a lecture by Marilla while Mathew and Gilbert stood to the side.
"Aurora!" Anne waved to the girl as she ran over.
"Aurora, you'll be watching over Anne as well, correct?" Marilla sighed with a concerned look.
"Of course, I'll be with her at least eighty percent of the time." Aurora reassured the woman as the three teenagers began to board the train.
"Aurora, Gilbert." Marilla called as the three turned around.
"Don't let her out of your sight until you reach Aunt Josephine's." She furrowed her brows.
"And thank you, for agreeing to chaperone." Matthew spoke.
"It's no trouble, I go every saturday." Gilbert nodded.
"Ya and I don't mind going, I haven't seen Cole in a while." Aurora smiled.
Anne turned towards the Gilbert and Aurora with somewhat of an embarrassed look on her face. "I don't know what's come over her but I'm certainly capable of--" But she didn't get to finish.
"I'll do my best to keep her out of a ditch." Gilbert smirked as he stepped into the train, as did Aurora, grabbing Anne's wrist and pulling her along before she could make a scene.
They three took their seats as the train began to move.
"She's fond of you. Marilla." Gilbert finally spoke.
"It's ridiculous really." Anne snarled.
"If it's any consolation I don't mind being your escort." He reassured the red haired girl. "And I'm sure Aurora doesn't either."
"Well I mind. I can fend for myself! Do you even know what my quest is?" Anne raised her voice defensively as Gilbert raised a brow. "I'm on a deeply meaningful personal journey and I certainly don't need you, or Aurora."
Aurora pursed her lips as she straightened her hat which Gilbert took notice of.
"Yes. I've taken notice of that, as did Aurora I can see." Gilbert sighed as he pulled out a book.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to.." Anne stopped herself.
"It's fine." Gilbert shook his head as Anne sighed and rolled her eyes.
The rest of the train ride was silent, Gilbert read his book, Aurora fiddled with her gloves most of the time and all Anne did was stare out the window. Aurora couldn't help but wonder what she was thinking about.
When the train reached it's stop, the three got off and began walking. It wasn't to far of a walk, but it was far enough.
Gilbert walked along side the girls while Anne and Aurora talked about the exciting things they could learn with Cole.
When they reached Aunt Josephine's house, Anne and Aurora said their goodbyes to Gilbert before he walked off, while Cole opened the door and both girls turned.
"I've missed you so much!" They all said in sync while laughing before Cole pulled the two girls into the tightest hug possible.
"Let's go inside! I have so much to tell you both." Cole smiled while leading the girls into the house.
Aunt Josephine's house was huge, and beautiful on the inside, it was lovely.
"And sometimes after school, I got to a gallery with my classmates." Cole said as he held a bright smile, one that Aurora hadn't ever seen him show, which made her even happier for him.
"Like minded individuals! Are you listening to yourself?" Anne exclaimed while Cole began tying his shoes.
"And we just stare, and stare at the paintings." Cole squinted.
"Art school is your perfect habitat." Anne's face softened.
"I'm so glad you're happy here Cole." Aurora grinned at the strawberry blonde boy.
"Ya but it's not the same without my best friends." Cole grinned slightly. "Yesterday we--" The boy was cut off when Aunt Josephine walked into the room along with her butler.
"Aunt Joe! Rollings!" Anne immediately went over to hug the woman as Aurora followed.
"Oh wonderful to see you both!" Aunt Josephine greeted. "You've both gotten so tall!" She laughed.
"Still lacing your boots I see?" The woman chuckled. "I've never met a soul who takes so long to get out of the house, I'm ancient and I run circles around him." Cole rolled his eyes.
"You'd think you'd have learned some patience in your 100 years on the planet." Cole grinned as Aunt Joe gasped.
"Do you see how he treats me?" The woman held back a laugh as the two girls did so.
"He's trying to render me obsolete." Rolling spoke as he held out Cole's jacket that he slipped onto his back.
"I can't get used to it." Cole chuckled.
"I see things are going terribly here." Anne laughed as she linked arms with Aurora and the woman beside her.
A/n: I know this is a terribly short chapter, but I haven't published in a while so I thought I should! Thank you for all the votes and support! Ily <3
