It felt like a dream as Steph gently pulled Alex by the hand into her bedroom. Along the way she couldn't help but glance down at her bare legs and wild thoughts filled her of what could happen, of what she wanted to happen. At the same time she didn't know if she was ready for anything so sudden if that would even happen at all.
Don't fuck it up, just don't fuck it up, please please please just don't fuck it up.
Even in her hazy state she could imagine how horrible it would be to make too big of a move or even just say one thing too far and be wrong. It would ruin everything she had built up in the few, but life-changing days together and she could not lose Steph right now. Even if this was it. Alex wasn't sure if she could control herself though. She continued her mantra of 'don't fuck it up' in her head as they reached the bed.
She felt a delayed thought reach her that helped anchor her mind for a moment. With a slow turn, Alex looked back to view the room and see what she had missed passing through, now that Steph turned on a small lamp.
She had an odd expectation for the room to match the record store because of how much Steph embodied the indie hipster scene to her, so when she didn't see the walls full of band posters, she was a little thrown off.
In her drunken state it was hard to focus on specifics, but the setup just seemed very normal to her overall. She started to doubt her impressions of Steph until she started to see nerd evidence which was a relief to Alex. The dungeons and dragons books on the shelf and dice on the desk made her feel like she had a chance with this girl. She already knew well enough that they had things in common, but it was good to have the reminders right there in front of her now. Then the other fear of not being nerd enough resurfaced.
But even if I was, she said that stuff to Ryan by the stairs. Do I really have any chance?
There were too many signs of something though for Alex to give up. Her hope and doubt kept battling, but neither seemed to be able to win.
She was snapped back to reality when realizing that Steph was at the dresser with her back turned and was taking off her shirt.
Alex watched without attempting any subtlety.
Captivated, looking over every inch revealed as the shirt was peeled off her body, she wondered how a back could be so beautiful, even obscured by the straps. A second later though, she saw her entire backside as the bra was removed too.
What the fuck...
Steph didn't turn around though as Alex hoped or feared. She wasn't sure which she felt. Maybe both.
Fuck, don't think like that Alex. Don't be a creep. But look at her...fuck...I'm only human...
Steph pulled out a dark blue tank top and slipped it on.
Okay, but still can't stop looking...
"You ready...uh, for sleep?" Steph asked, as she suddenly turned around.
Alex quickly looked back up to Steph's face.
Does she know I was staring?
Alex could only nod.
"Do you...need help? Uh, with that?" Steph asked, gesturing to the boot.
"Sure..." she stammered out.
Alex was already in the perfect position to sit in the bed, so she did.
Steph came over and knelt down, almost swaying enough to fall forward at an angle, but grabbed Alex's knees in each hand to stabilize herself. She still bumped into her leg, but luckily it was the good one. She pulled herself back to kneeling upright, not letting go of Alex.
