Alex woke up feeling very peaceful, stark contrast to her time at The Helping Hands when every morning was filled with dread. Something still felt off though, but she couldn't quite figure out what it was as she started to open her eyes. She found that they had managed to stay together during the night. Steph still had a leg between hers and an arm draped low, perhaps purposely to avoid putting too much weight on her ribs. What got her attention was the hand that rested just at her stomach, fingers holding the elastic of her boy shorts while the thumb had slipped underneath the other side. The realization made her stomach tighten.
A firm knock sounded at the bedroom door and the hand that held her underwear pulled back quickly, accidentally snapping her skin as it went back into place. She yelped more out of surprise than pain and she could hear Steph exclaim, "Oh shit, sorry," in a hushed morning voice at the same time they heard George's voice behind the door.
"Hey, girls. Sorry to bother you, but don't we have to get going soon?"
That's what was wrong. It was a little too bright. They had slept in.
Steph bolted upright with her at the same time and they looked at each other with a little panic and both went for their phones. Alex putting on her glasses first.
This delay gave Steph time to get to the time first.
"Shit, I never set the alarm. We have fifteen minutes to be there," Steph said under her breath.
She then called out to the door, "Coming right out!"
Then to herself but for Alex's benefit she said, "Acrobatics check!" and rolled across the bed to Alex's side landing on her feet, still holding the bed.
"I crit that shit," she said proudly and then leaned over, giving Alex a nice tender kiss which she returned.
"Morning, babe. Let's get you over to that dresser to put some clothes on...I guess," Steph said before glancing down Alex's body making her blush.
Alex smiled and said, "Morning yourself. Sure, this damsel wouldn't mind a firm hand."
"I have two of those," Steph said as she helped her out of the bed.
"But seriously we got to get going. The record store doesn't matter but someone definitely will probably notice if I don't get things going on schedule in the station."
"Got it," Alex said as they reached the dresser. Steph opened the drawer for Alex.
"There should only be your clothes in here, right? You didn't hide any more of my clothes in here, did you?"
"Yeah, should be no problem," Alex said smiling with some embarrassment recalling the tank top she accidentally put on before.
After trying not to overthink her choices, Alex pulled out an outfit and let Steph get hers, moving to the side. Being in a hurry, and feeling bold yet safe because Steph was distracted, Alex turned away and took off her shirt, quickly putting on a bra. When she turned around, clutching a hand to her breast while grabbing the shirt she chose, she saw Steph glancing away. Alex didn't have much time to consider how much Steph saw as she wondered how she was going to discreetly change her underwear.
When she glanced at Steph, Alex realized this was no concern for her. Steph had already taken off her boy shorts and had just started pulling up a new pair bending over and exposing her behind and a little more.
Holy shit!
Fuck, did I say that out loud? No? No. But still, holy shit!
A second later the boy shorts were on and she started to take off her shirt. Alex turned away even though she didn't want to, trying to be respectful and not knowing what the rules were now that they were girlfriends.
