Self control.
The hardest thing in the universe.
Junhui came to know about it today, Just this morning, when he had to put in his phone in silent mode and hid it inside his bag. But that doesn't mean he didn't feel the vibration of every incoming notification. But he tried not to look at it until his working hours were over.
Today's the first day of his job as a digital creator in a private firm and he wished to do his best on the project he was going to start. For the first few months, he will need to accompany and assist the head project manager and after his training period is over, he will be designated with his own digital projects.
So he needs to stay focused. But by the time the clock said that it was lunch time already, he couldn't resist himself any more from looking at his phone.
And the first thing he noticed was the notification of Yunhee's message.
"Jun, I think I love you too" he murmured in a low voice. But it wasn't easy. Rather, it was painful to see such things as he knew exactly how egoistic and adamant Yunhee is.
"Now that I'm away, you miss me. And that's what's making you say things like this. I don't think you were ever serious about uttering things like this" he said to himself looking at the white screen of the phone, as if Yunhee was sitting across the table with him.
But he has experienced a very bitter truth about her nature. How can he accept all of it so suddenly and so fast? All the time he spent teaching her Chinese or making memories with her, all those times which were so priceless to him, all those times he tried hard to not fall again for that same Min Yunhee from school, in a moment, they felt pointless when he came to know that for Yunhee, it was just her preparation for a disaster. She didn't even look at Jun.
All that she was concerned about was her plans and plots. She wanted to learn Chinese to be able to talk to that girl and destroy her fantasies. Why? He wasn't sure about the reason.
Maybe if he goes back, everything will be alright for now. But her feelings, that she's claiming to be real for Junhui now, will they ever become genuine? Jun fears that one day her heart will change again, just like the way it changed today, all of a sudden.
One day she may say that no, it was just a liking, just an attraction, not love. The phone buzzes to life when it displays Yunhee's name on the screen for the nth time. And finally, his defeated hands picked the call up, "what's it?"
"Jun.. you picked up. Oh my god. Okay wait.. I have a lot to tell you…" Yunhee sounded breathless with every word she spoke.
"Yunhee.."
"I am really-- you're saying something?" Yunhee asked.
"Hmm. Give me some time. I need some time at the very least. Please hang up" Jun replied.
Yunhee went speechless. "Okay, alright. We will talk later. Have you eaten?"
"Yes I have. I'm a little busy so…"
"Yes, I'll hang up now. Bye, take care!"
And then after a short hmm and a beep sound, the call cut, without asking if she had eaten or not, without telling Yunhee to take care of herself too.
.
.
.
Jun didn't call back. Neither did he intend to. It was evident to Yunhee as his replies were not really heartfelt. Two days had passed since then and no text message or no phone call made its way towards Yunhee from Daegu to Seoul.
But if he doesn't listen to Yunhee, how was she supposed to solve this? He may misunderstand her now. He may think that Yunhee is not totally genuine about her feelings or she's just pressuring her heart out of the situation. But no, that's not the fact.
She knows exactly how she feels. And she is not making any mistakes this time. She can read her heart very well so that she knows that she loves him.
She does.
So she decided to wait. Wait until it's the right chance to talk to him and solve things. And that right change may come when Jun visits Seoul.
But when is he going to come to Seoul? How is she supposed to know that?
"Ah, right! Xu Minghao, business major! He's Jun's best friend" She immediately searched for her phone in her bag. She was coming back from her extra classes and was still inside the bus.
After a minute of searching on Instagram, she finally found his profile there and without losing a second or sparing herself a breath, she followed him and left a text message for him.
"I have something to talk about. It's urgent.
Min Yunhee"If anyone on this earth can help Yunhee now, by telling her about Jun's whereabouts, that's Minghao.

He didn't believe his eyes.
"Min Yunhee?" He was looking straight at the screen for a solid three minutes, "is texting me?" His mouth formed the shape of o and he read the text once more.
What will Jun think if he knows that Yunhee is texting him now? Did she tell him? No, maybe not. But Minghao should at least let Jun know, right?
Right?
But how's Jun gonna know that Minghao and Yunhee talked over texts? What's he concerned for? And he doesn't even know what Yunhee is gonna talk about.
So he decided to reply, "yep, what's it?"
And the second phase of the story started.
