The morning was a big chaos since everyone was rushing to get ready for the reception. It was such a rush since the girls had an appointment with one of the best hairstylists and make up artists in India. Also they had somehow managed to convince their lovely dadis to accompany them.
Several businessmen, people from film industry and a few family members were coming. For Rakshit and Romi, it wasn't something they would go hyper for but for Drishti and Divya, well, it was again a rivalry since their industry friends were not companions too. Divya had Lavanya, Mahi and Twinkle on her side while Drishti had Simran, Rashi and Pakhi on her side. The industry loved all of them, no doubt, but they knew the teams all hated each other.
It wasn't just an appointment.
Romi and Divya had turned on one page to continue their little arguments with each other but join hands in helping them get one step ahead of their siblings. That left Drishti alone to struggle with the complications which were yet to come because Rakshit wanted to compete with his brother but not had no griveces against Divya.
The stylist was supposed to do Drishti's hairdo first but Romi paid him extra to get the appointment for Divya instead.
In anger Drishti left the stylist's office telling Lucky that she had something important to do. She reached home in order to share his anger and frustration with Rakshit. Having on one to share her feelings about Divya with except her friends, if anyone thought Drishti would remain silent just because her husband was half an asshole then nope, there was no stopping her.
Rakshit was getting ready in his room when the door opened with a jerk causing the hair dryer to fall from his hand. He sighed at the expected presence but faked a laugh seeing her anger because he was well aware of what had happened.
Early this morning he heard his brother on the call but did nothing to support his wife. He thought it was stupid for anyome to fight for a mere stylist.
"You're here" she clutched her dress tightly and threw the bag that had her saree across the bed. "You can't believe what they did to me"
"What?" He sighed at her stupidity. She was fighting over a stylist appointment.
"Your brother booked that appointment for Divya. I had gone through so much struggle to get that appointment first but they-" she threw the vase which was lying on the table nearby making Rakshit frustrated. He couldn't understand why it meant so much to her.
It was true that the hate between the siblings was same and nothing more or less but Drishti had always panicked when she saw Divya getting ahead of her. And she had a valid reason for that too which Rakshit didn't know yet. That's why he failed to understand how complicated it was and how badly it had affected her.
"How could she? She- she" she held her head between her hands and sat on the bed in utter dismay. "They did this to me Rakshit. Rakshit they-"
"Took your appointment" he sighed as he wore his coat lying on the cough near him.
Drishti looked at him and her amger grew. She hadn't told him what had happened, which only meant he knew it but still didn't care to show some concern. "You knew?"
"Yeah" he spoke uninterested. It meant nothing to him as it did to her. "I heard him talk on his phone this morning"
"And you did nothing?" Tears were about to form in her eyes when she saw this side of hers. She knew he didn't care but she had expected the slightest support from his side which he failed to give.
"Nah" he said and went inside the closet area leaving her shocked.
"How could you?" She yelled from her place and turned around to look at Rakshit entering the closet.
Drishti stood up and followed him into the walk in closet, watching him take out his watch from a drawer and wear it on his left wrist. "Rakshit I'm talking to you"
She yelled at him but all he did was sigh and take out a bag from his cupboard. "Rakshit! I'm asking you something. Can't you talk to me properly for once? Romi did that for her. You knew but you didn't do anything! How could you possibly-"
"Get ready" he pressed the bag against her front and tried leaving the closet but his path was stopped by Drishti.
"You can't just leave like this. I'm talking to you. And what's in this" she said and opened the bag only to find a simple yet beautiful saree in that bag. "What's this? Don't you know I already have a dress? A designer one, a pretty expensive one, more than Divya's"
"Trust me its worth more" he said and cupped her face with his right hand. "If you want your sister to be jealous, just wear this" he wiped the tear which came out of her eyes when she saw the unsupportive side. "And it was still just an appointment. You don't have to cry over it wife"
He left the closet murmuring stupid. Drishti looked at the saree confused but wore it for the reception. Maybe Rakshit would have thought something good, afterall his relationship was his brother was being tested.
How could he step backward when his brother had put a step forward?
As for Drishti, she was half impressed by the saree so wore it with the blouse of her choice and decided doing her hair on her own. She straightened them and used a decent heatset to wear above it, matched some jewelry to go with it, filled her hairline with vermillion and tied her nuptial chain.
No matter how mad she was at the stylist for delaying her appointment, she couldn't hold a grudge with him so she went back to his office without meeting Rakshit.
Rakshit being the absolute asshole asked his brother to come with him since dadi called them and hearing Lucky's name Romi was forced to go, though he took a different car.
When they reached the office of the stylist the girls were done and came outside from their respective rooms to face their husbands.
Lucky who watched her grand daughter in laws exit was left in tears of happiness seeing Drishti. And Romi who was more than just mad looking at Drishti and Rakshit. That left both of the girls confused.
Rakshit smirked and caught his dadi's shoulders gently "Dadi, how is your grand daughter in law looking in the saree your husband gifted you on your first anniversary?"
Divya was shocked and jealous on hearing that while Drishti looked at her saree and smiled at Rakshit who gave her no look back, but it was okay for her.
"You passed it on to your daughter in law, and she passed it to hers, my wife, Drishti Shergill. Ah, isn't your bhabhi looking beautiful Romi?" Rakshit gave a devilish look to his brother who was bewildered.
Drishti smiled and stepped forward to take Lucky's blessings. As she touched her feet Rakshit joined her and both took Lucky's blessings together. He gently pulled took her hand in front of his grandmother and asked them to come, as the reception was going to start.
Drishti looked back at Divya who was conversing with Romi and smirked at her. "Yes dadi, we should go. Divya and Romi can come later if they want to. Look how lovingly they are looking at each other, I guess they want to have a small talk"
"Oh ho, stop teasing them. Romi, Divya come with us. We are a family, if we went separately, it won't look good" Lucky smiled at her family and smiled when Drishti locked their arms and smiled at her to go.
Well, this time Rakshit was there but who knew if Drishti would have him to compete with what would come after Rakshit had triggered both of them.
