Dakota's pov

I sat through my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th periods thinking why did he hug me? But then I realized how stupid and weird I was acting and slightly tried to stop, but the thing is, I couldn't. It went through my head a million times Why did he hug me, why, why, why. Maybe he was just being nice. Each time the bell rang it woke me from my thoughts, and I continued to my next class and as if it was a prearranged cycle I continued to think the same thing. I'm completely hopeless. I mean, he may be as cute as most females I know, and we did just meet, but I can't get myself to stop. I have lots of other subjects to focus on like school, Baseball, friends, family, and so much more. His thoughts probably consist of more important matters, things I should be focused on, and in that moment the thoughts sprung up again. why did he hug me?

Finally when the lunch bell rang and released me from my thoughts, I went to my locker and continued on to enter the lunch room. I sat with my group of friends Kat, Kit, Mary, Garrett, Noah, and Tommy. The lunch table was crowded, but it didn't matter. When I saw Mary's eyes widen and stare off behind me, I knew he was walking over here. "Who is that?" I heard Kat whisper. I then said "that's my knew buddy Austin. He just moved here." "He's cuteee. I want me a piece of that pastry." Kat licked her lips. "I-Is it okay if I sit here?" He asked me very shyly when he got close enough. Smiling, I nodded,"Yeah, sure." I patted the seat next to me,"Sit."

He glided down into the seat then introduced himself to everyone,"Hey, I'm Austin. Just moved here from Ohio, don't really know anyone yet other than Kota." "Hey Austin." Kat said through a mouthful of pasta,"I'm Kat." She pointed towards Kit then Grace,"The redhead is Kit and Grace is the brunette over there." He nodded towards them,"It's nice to meet you." I introduced everyone else to him.

Austin laughed and giggled with my friends and I all through lunch. When lunch was over, he stood up and hugged each of us. Just as I expected, he was being friendly. The rest of my school day didn't consist of thoughts clouded by him after the discovery of why he had hugged me. It was foolish of me to become so consumed with such a meaningless gesture. Before school ended, I remembered that I had the choice to show him around town after we were let out, but I only would do it if he wanted to. I slightly hoped he wouldn't want to or that he would for some reason be busy with unloading boxes or something like that. Of course with my luck the exact opposite happened because he did infact want me to show him around town. I ignored the fact that I was slightly happy he wanted to
