Do. Your. Job.

Mike Dugan, a wheat farmer, couldn't get his tractor to move. It was a brand new John Deere tractor too. When he got out and saw the field, the problem was both instantly clear and absolutely horrifying. The corpse of a young woman was lying on matted wheat stalks and dirt. It now had four slash marks from his John Deere.

"Come on Tim, we need these pictures for the investigation. This is part of the job," said Sheriff Wilhelm.

"B-b-but Sh-sh-sheriff, it's Adelina," said Deputy Tim.

"That's what it looks like to me too," he said curtly, "but we need the pictures to verify it."

"You're gonna use DNA anyway," whined Tim.

"Do. Your. Job." said the sheriff.

Tim used a Samsung camera to take stills from all sides of the corpse. He zoomed in for some shots of the face and chest. Her skin looked blue and purple. Her eyes were shut. Two molars were cracked.

--Meanwhile, at the high school:

Julius hated First Hour. You had to be on-time; otherwise the teachers would mark you as tardy. If you hated your First Hour teacher, you couldn't get a pass to see another teacher because that could get in the way of them taking attendance. And you had to listen to the über-boring announcements. Who cared if they were serving meatloaf for lunch for the third time this month? Here they began.

"Good morning Wildcats. Today is September Second. It is with great sadness and regret that I make this announcement, This is a very serious matter so I would urge you all to be silent, including faculty and guests. Aurora Police believe they have found Adelina Lopez, a member of our senior class. You may remember she was Homecoming Queen last year. It appears she passed away last night of unknown causes. I am sorry to have to share this news with our more sensitive freshman students but it would be impossible for me to shield them from these reports. Let us begin our day with a moment of silent remembrance for the kind and exceptional Adelina Lopez."
