Evacuation

It was quiet. A quiet night. A peaceful night. I couldn't sleep, which was fine by me because I wasn't ready for the stars forsaken nightmares. Papyrus was fast asleep next door and everything was good... I hope. You see, that's the reason I'm awake. Something feels wrong, like something bad will happen any minute. This has happened to me before and it ended up being nothing, but still I was alert. The hours ticking by as I waited for something to show up, something to happen. 10 turned to 11, 11 turned to 12, 12 turned to 1. 5 hours and 43 minutes later. At 2:43 in the morning an alarm went off in my closet. That alarm was a warning. It was connected to the C.O.R.E and it went off... the C.O.R.E, and monsterkind was in trouble. I was in Papyrus room in an instant. The alarm gave me about 6 hours to evacuate all the citizens to the Ruins and close the doors. The doors had a blast proof barrier surrounding them and was the furthest place from the C.O.R.E itself. "papyrus! wake up!" I shook Papyrus violently, the confused skeleton waking rather quickly. "get ready and pack only essentials."

Papyrus didn't understand, nor did I have the time to help him understand. I called Undyne to evacuate Waterfall, Alphys to Evacuate Hotland, and Asgore to evacuate New Home. Hell, I even went from door to door, knocking and ushering people to hurry and move. Within the hour, Snowdin and some of Waterfall's residents were bombarding poor Toriel's place for safety. I told Papyrus I would go in after everyone else was safe. "What the hell is going on Sans?!" Oh Undyne, always wanting to know everything. "alphys can explain better than i can, but long story short, the c.o.r.e is melting down and is going to explode."
"WAIT WHAT?!" I left her in favor of helping a family out. Undyne realized that if what I was saying was true, a lot of people would need help on this journey here. I didn't see Undyne again during the evac. Soon Alphys had come with Hotland's residents. "H-how did you kn-know... that the C.O.R.E was...?"
"i'm certain we don't have time for this. Hotland only just got here and we only have 4 hours left to explosion.

2 hours. It was 2 hours to explosion and New Home was finally filing through the doors to Old Home. Alphys was caught up in explaining the situation to Undyne and the royal family in Toriel's living room. I ushered the last few family's inside and checked the time. 7:47 am. A little less than an hour left to explosion. I pushed the door shut, creating a barrier of bones to keep it shut. I don't need anyone leaving. My sacrifice should be enough. "let's get this started." I teleported to the C.O.R.E, and started a series of inputs and commands that should contain the blast as I essentially locked myself in through magic proof doors. The evacuation, was for in case the initial containment, that being the facility itself, didn't work and the C.O.R.E's magic escaped throughout the rest of the Underground. C.O.R.E malfunction reaching c-cri-tica-al p-pow-wer. Ov-ver-lo-lo-oad in -zsh min-nu-zshh-. I didn't need to hear the speakers to know what was happening. I could see the giant, expanding, flaring, churning mass of power. It was scary beautiful in a sense. The churning red, yellow, orange, blue, green, purple, cyan, black, and white melding together, twisting into one.

I wandered the enclosed halls of the facility. I was stuck here now, for the last 30 or so minutes of my life. Exploding, I decided, wasn't a bad way to die. At least I'll go quick. I know Papyrus will be devastated. He will be ok though. He will mourn, he will grieve, he will move on. "heh... maybe frisk will let time flow again, when i'm gone?" Of course they will try to reset, bring me back, but the C.O.R.E is stronger in power. Their reset ability will likely be glitched while the magic settles. I found myself back in the control room. There wasn't much time left. The core of the C.O.R.E was almost as big as it's containment room. The moment it touched the wall, boom. "welp. guess this is it now... i had a blast.. heh." There was a flash and a roar and then, it was quiet.
