There weren't any sounds except for the waves hitting the rocks, a storm probably making its way towards the shore. You were nervously looking at Dongwook's wrist that was marking 2:00 am sharp as he noticed your fidgeting hands, rubbing the sensitive skin there that was becoming irritated from the consecutive scratch.
"I don't hear anything" You whispered, trying to slow down your heartbeat "What if the guards won't change shifts toda-"
"Ugh, I can't believe boss put us guarding this two little pieces of shit. I would rather be in the action, tomorrow they will break into the bank and break the safe" A voice spoke a little bit far away, interrupting you "This will be a massive event for us! The other groups will finally respect us and learn not to mess with us"
Your eyes widened as took in his words. A robbery?
"Thank you for your service guys" A different voice spoke but this time lower and they were definitely closer "It's your turn to rest now"
Dongwook touched his watch "We'll wait some minutes to let them settle down and then we'll get to position and I will start the act, okay?"
Biting your lower lip harshly, your dad appeared on your mind as your brain painfully displayed all the happy memories you two had made. And then you pictured your mom saying how much she loved you.
You fought your tears away, your dad would be heartbroken if something happened to you.
There would be no one else to support him anymore.
"Don't worry, I will make sure we get out of here alive" He spoke softly, trying to reassure you even if you knew he couldn't promise that. You tried your best to smile, nodding as you wiped some tears you hadn't control.
"Thank you for everything" You said honestly and before he could retort something about your negativity you spoke again "For trying to protect me until the end"
You threw yourself at him, wrapping your arms around his neck in a sad hug while you hid your face in his chest not wanting to face him after those words. You heard him sighing just above your head, his strong arms holding you softly in contrast, his hand caressing your back.
"Thank you for not abandoning me" You spoke against him, grateful for having him by your side.
"I won't fail you now" Dongwook hold you even closer as if he was also convincing himself "I will make sure you see your dad again"
