Looking out of the window, the sun had already started to fade away leaving the sky with a beautiful gradient of orange with a tint of pink. You found yourself getting distracted by the view next to you, not noticing the handsome man in front of you looking at you with a pensive expression on his face.

Dongwook was slowly realizing the traumatic event that happened had more influence on you than you would like to admit, the eye bags underneath your eyes were getting more visible even after your failed attempt to hide them with makeup. He took the opportunity to analyze your face while you were too busy watching a child run with a balloon in their hand while waving at their mother, he noticed the similarities you shared with your father but even if you took after your father, now that your traces were more matured, there was no denial you were beginning to look more like your mother. He had met your mother a couple of times before she passed away, she would drop by the station to visit your father and, sometimes, she would even bring you along.

Feeling observed, a shiver crossed your body and you quickly looked at the man in front of you. He smoothly changed his gaze to the coffee sitting on the table, grabbing it, and taking a sip of it.

"Have you been able to get some sleep these past weeks?" He spoke, pretending like nothing had happened.

You let out a sigh, giving him a weak smile afterward "Not really... But I'm positive it will get better eventually"

"Have you thought about seeing a therapist?" Dongwook suggested and you laughed, dismissing it with a laugh.

"Oh no, it's just some nightmares that keep me awake at night but I study in that time I can't sleep. It's actually productive, you know?"

He shook his head in disapproval, laughing. That would be something I would say, he thought to himself. Looking in your way, he saw your eyes suddenly sparkling as if you got excited for something.

"Captain, can I ask you something?" You questioned, smiling at him while he tilted his head trying to decipher if you were about to ask him the most simple or difficult question ever.

"Sure"

"What is it like being a captain, do you like working on cases?" You spoke, leaning towards him on the table, getting closer with excitement "How many cases are you working on at the moment?"

Dongwook couldn't stop himself from bursting out laughing, thinking you would ask him anything else but that. He rolled up his sleeve, a move that didn't go unnoticed by you who thought was pretty manly and sexy, leaning towards you as well.
